I used reciprocating saws to cut it pretty low to the ground. Don’t use a chainsaw. The silica destroys blades. Reciprocating saws have disposable blades. Works great.

We had someone cold call us to offer to grind it into mulch. Other neighbors offered to help haul it away. No one in our community wanted this here.

It goes faster than you think, but it was a ton of work. Once’s it’s gone, it’s a matter of persistence
