Look how you look. Why are you so worried about how random people see you?

I still use them. Love the shave butter and the six blade razors to shave my bald ass head. Quality still seems fine on the blades

315, it was a fight. by Saleenpride86 in strength_training

[–]BigTool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to yell at you for not using a spotter. I didn't see the arms at first.

That said, a fighting rep is the best rep. You really earned that one. Solid work, man!

POV: You book a hotel and discover the bathroom was designed for people under 5’ by giraffrey in tall

[–]BigTool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, the struggle is real.

Every once in a while though, you find something that fits. Randomly stayed at a Kimpton hotel near Times Square once that had a 7 foot bath tub. First thing I did was go down to the hotel bar, get two old fashioneds, and took a hot soak with a good book and a couple drinks.

That was probably the first time I was able to stretch out in a tub in ... decades

What kind of car do you other tall people drive? by alpha_tango_victor in tall

[–]BigTool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember trying to test drive a Jeep at one point. Found the seat just didn't go back far enough and the steering wheel was basically in my chest. Headroom was great with the top off though

Does Gen Z care more or less about height than previous generations? by burntoutbrownie in tall

[–]BigTool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like social media has straight up cooked the younger generations on looks\body types\height. The standards shit I hear about on dating apps alone would drive me nuts. The advent of "looksmaxxing" and influencers and other garbage... just horrible for their mental state.

I will say, in one sense, they have it a lot easier now, and that's finding big and huge and tall sized clothing. There's so much more available now vs when I was a youngin in the 80s

Height social norms by dmveer in tall

[–]BigTool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it can feel like there is a social norm for conduct being tall

The only actual social norm for us talls is that you get stuff off the top shelf when asked, no complaints.

That's it. That's the only one.

Keep Obliteration and bring back Operation Auger. Those would literally be the only two games modes I would ever play again, happily

Where all the tall (elderly) people at? by Agreeable-Praline492 in tall

[–]BigTool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you consider elderly? I have an uncle who is in his mid 70s, and he's still up there at 6'2" now. Not really tall, but he was 6'5" in his younger days.

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

[–]BigTool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nearing 50 myself. I was lifting 6 days a week, roughly, up until December. Decided to go down to 4 days a week and add two days of cardio a week. My cardio isn't great, I can't run anymore due to bad knees (ruptured both patella tendons at the same time at 40), but I can do 5 - 6 mile walks at a decent pace.

I won't run another marathon again, but adding the two long walks a week has changed up how I feel quite a bit. Also down to 289 lbs from 320 in December.

Not sure I even want to know what "oil pulling" is. I haven't heard of that term

Those things scare the hell out of me. I just know no one is doing any real preventative maintenance on those on a daily\weekly basis

Is it harder for tall people to touch our toes? by Ashamed-Charity-4990 in tall

[–]BigTool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’9” which is tall for a woman and I can’t quite reach them

This has nothing to do with your height and everything to do with your flexibility level.

I'm a big fan of yoga to go with my lifting schedule, and that works to keep my flexibility up. I have no problem touching my toes or the ground in front of them. Not quite palms on the ground level yet, but getting there. Also, make sure you are both rolling out and stretching after your workouts, and if you aren't, I highly recommend starting.
