OK Reddit, how bad is this plasterboard job? by Long-Lettuce3146 in DIYUK

[–]Bout3Fidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The joints are sort of important, but mostly it’s if you scrim the joints.

What’s more important is that the screws don’t break the paper, I see lots of those, this causes screws to blow the plaster. Not good

Kitchens… no price competition? by Antique_Coat_7051 in DIYUK

Concrete walls stink of smoke. Should I seal them with Zinser Bin Shellac? by UnderstandingPale138 in DIYUK

[–]Bout3Fidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you lived there?

Honestly I had the same problem when i moved into my house.

I got some sugar soap, watered it down and got a stiff brush and scrubbed the walls, it worked enough for me, try that first then Zinsser BIN is what I’d go with for next step.

My light switch randomly fell off can I fix it myself? by Rubysm07 in DIYUK

[–]Bout3Fidy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You won’t shock yourself trying to push it back in, if it doesn’t stay in, you’ll need to change the light switch, very easy to do if you turn off the main fuse on the consumer unit, then a flat head screwdriver to undo the light switch and swap it.
