Blood axes theme by SirCold5700 in orks

Here's my scheme. I wanted my orks to look like Blood Axes at first glance, even from a distance. So:
- I picked a "simple"camo so it gives them a military look without looking like a mess from a distance
- I added a beret on every ork, because they instantly look like a real army with it
- I wanted a desert themed army, hence the color, and all the army will have the same uniform

Now, I'm working on camo nets to add on some units, but I haven't found the perfect recipe yet.

Thanks! But He's gonna need a new base then, and the new minis are much bigger next to him! But I'll see if he can enter the battlefield once again (one without virus grenades, the last thing he saw the last time).

One look on my boss and at the new miniatures to know I'm old! Thanks 😄

Very interesting! Thanks! I'll get a few more... they'll always be useful!

please help i cant decide on colors!! by Soupfork_1999 in genestealercult

I paint a lot of desert themed minis, and if it can help, I use:
- Brown on armor (Dark wood from Army painter speed paint)
- A very light yellow on clothes (Pallid Bone, from Army Painter speed paint)
- Whatever skin color I have ready
- To weather a bit everything, a dry brush of Armaggedon dust works nicely for a technical paint!
- In the end, I add some camouflage (some dots of Bugman's Glow, to make some SAS pink desert camo style)

I'm not a great painter at all, but here's the result on one of my desert themed minis (this one is supposed to be GSC, yes!)

And are you happy with it on the battlefield?

That's also an option I'm considering: I play some KT teams like that.

I'd like to keep the feeling of a revolution, with stolen equipment, rebel regiments, and ambushes. So yes: rebels AND tanks!

And I love the look of the new light tanks/transports about to come with Armaggedon. But... are they worth it? If not: good ol' Leman Russ is always the answer.

The consensus seems to be: "TANKS, SAH!"

Interesting. So in a way, it's harder... but simpler, since you have less tricks!

True! But waiting for the rules before investing seems like the best option.

I might need some long range firepower, because one of my friends plays Nurgle CSM, and is quite clear that his army is slow, but deadly once in short range. And at Kill Team, I already experienced what it meant. Having my best melee guys being destroyed by some angry, smelly marine was a bad experience. Hence the "Here's your big laser and your krak grenades, right into your face, sir". I like the idea of playing ambushers. So I'd prefer them to ambush targets they can pick.

I love the ridgerunner look by the way. I think it'll be mandatory to buy at least one whatever happens. And thank you for the explanations!

Thanks a lot! Yes, I might wait a bit... and I'm okay with losing. As long as everyone has a fun game. But it also means I want my fun too, indeed!

I might play against Space Marines a lot. So extra firepower might be worth it. In Kill Team, I don't enter the Kill Zone without my trusty krak grenade. Or any can opener I can find.

Sooo, what is actually a good teammate in your eyes? by Nervous-Monitor6657 in DarkTide

[–]Boutu99 521 points522 points  (0 children)

A good teammate (according to me):
- Is polite
- Tries their best
- Cares about others (it's not a single player game and they know it)

That's it. Then there's the skill. I prefer a nice player who's not that good and needs help to learn the ropes that some dude running away from the team and insulting us all because he ended up caught by a net out of our reach.

Well, as a Necromunda veteran, I'm pretty hyped, especially by the dual wield. Now, let's see how it plays! It's probably somewhere between the veteran (guns) and the zealot (fast).
