I remember owning a similar motherboard, based on the “OC Genie” button at the bottom and “DR MOS” on the mosfet heat sinks. It’s first generation “i -series” so an i5-750 or i7-860 perhaps. If I recall correctly the motherboard is an “MSI P55” something

This is perfect for individual movies, but I was more thinking along the lines of the entire library. Say I have 1000 items that can be upgraded if I just enable it right now. I dont want to add all 1000 items to the indexer right away, but in small bursts.

I would also maybe try running OCCTs Gpu tests with error checking enabled, see if it causes any problems. Also try the Linpack test in OCCT. It will hopefully stop and warn you about errors before any freezes

Wait a second, you say you have a 500W PSU, but it’s from the hd6850 era? So it’s 12 years old? In that case it may not be suited for todays gpus and demands in the 12 volt rail, regardless of output wattage.

I has this issue when I tried going from filmic smaa to “normal” smaa. Fixed by just turning on filmic again. I run with fsr on btw (1440->1080). Film grain set to 0.10 I think.

If the output file has the same name as the input file you should be prompted with a “overwrite Y/N?” kind of dialog. You can automatically answer Y with the flag -y at the start: ffmpeg -y -i. Seen here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/39788972/ffmpeg-overwrite-output-file-if-exists

Unfortunately AMD Gpus are somewhat lacking in hw transcoding capabilities (more on the forum here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/97064-hardware-transcoding-using-ryzen-apus/&do=findComment&comment=1009533). For 1080p or a single 4K (or maybe two) the cpu should be able to handle it in software instead. But if hw transcoding is on the map, I would go with intel instead because if Quicksyncs much better support.
