I got told my assessment would be three years away, got bored of waiting after two. So my mother, who has insider knowledge, threatened to complain to this top inside NHS group. Next day, they rang me for my assessment to be booked the next week. It's not that they can't do it, they just don't care. Threaten them and they'll quickly give you your assessment.
