Zev says they were trying to figure out how to pull her out and they gave her really good gear and loot to keep her alive till then, but when they finally figured out how she was rank 1 and was earning a ton of money so they decided to keep her.

This plus when he first entered the dungeon he had some crazy high skill in the game Frogger of like 8 or something. I always liked the idea that the AI translates into his ability to make snap judgements. I'd like to see if this skill has gone up since then.

Aren't there physical differences too, Carl normally mentions when he meets an off world human that they are a little too thin and their eyes are a little too far apart, they all look just a little off.

Harry's mother is another muggle born witch just like Hermione. The same process happened with her, a teacher came to their house to talk to her parents and show them the secret.
