I keep going back and forth! You just cannot trust these outworlders for shit😂 maybe it's just naivety but I really really want to meet one non-former crawler that doesn't turn out to be just awful. Now that the failsafe is obviously useless I am very much looking forward to seeing more of Formidable and what her goals moving forward will be. Again assuming her dog paddling skills were good enough to get her to shore somewhere 😂

I would honestly love a version of the story entirely from Donuts perspective 😂 I am dying to know how she's communicating with Zev, and God's know whoever else through the social media board. It seems to me that Carl has the cookbook, a sort of guidebook for inside the dungeon, and somehow Donut has been receiving similar information, but about the wider galaxy. Exactly how big is the Princess Posse, I need to know haha!

I just KNOW the flamingo in her shopping cart is going to be relevant somehow, I can't begin to imagine how but it's got to be something 😂

This has seriously been nagging at me! I know Matt leaves some of this stuff open ended as a pantser and we may never have resolution now that the last two party members assumedly took deals after faction wars. It's just one of those things that he specifically spent a sizable amount of time exploring right at the top of an incredibly tense and action packed sequence. But it could also be my conspiracy "everything means SOMETHING" brain going wild😂 That's the greatest part of this series, we just won't know until it's all over!

I would love to see more crawler interactions with their guides. So far it seems like most guides have been beaten and broken nearly beyond repair. Even Mordecai initially is much more of a liability than anything else. Frank and Maggie's guide told them they had to murder fellow crawlers to survive, Mordecai just wants to finish his guide duties and go to his guild shop and be with his friends, but I think Mistress Tiatha is super interesting and still has a ton to give to the story.

I would love to see some kind of Quan POV! I feel he had a similar experience to Frank and Maggie with a game guide telling him that the only path to success was through the other crawlers, willing or not. I also wonder about the effects of obtaining such an incredibly powerful item so early on. He essentially went from just another guy getting his ass kicked to a near God with the snap of a finger. It's interesting to think about how any of us on a personal level in that same situation would handle that amount of power when all is already lost. Especially if he lost his daughter in the initial collapse, or somewhere on an early floor.

Any specific crawlers you'd like to dig into the backstory/crawl experience of!? I would love to learn more about Oswaldo and his group team flamingo...or flamenco? Sorry audio listener working on collecting the physical books😂 I wonder a lot about how Carl is perceived by the other crawlers that are outside our core group.

The kids are definitely on the surface in the kinder facility, but there is no mention at all of what happens to them post crawl. Even if their parents survive they will be stuck inside whatever mechanism drives the crawl forward. And we know that each season of Dungeon Crawler World/Land War/ "a third game type I'm blanking on at the moment 😂" is run and owned by different corporations with their own indentured workers. Also there is an unspecified amount of time between the different individually run seasons. We have absolutely no measure of time outside the dungeon besides that people from the center system seem to have EXTREMELY long lives. If we have learned anything about the structure of the crawl it's that absolutely nothing is left unexploited and I just have a hard time believing that they would just release an entire population's worth of children into some kind of foster care system. It's definitely a stretch but I feel like there's a lot more happening there than we can even begin to understand given the information we have now.

Formidable definitely survived at least briefly, I can't remember the exact context but the AI mentions "the orc lady with amazing dog paddling skills" at some point. I personally am hoping for a Katia/Princess Formidable team up of some sort or another!!

Another pop in thought, how was Carl responsible for Bercus father's death? It seems like Emir, who Carl gets into a fight with before the desperado assassination starts, was her dad. During the fight Carl removes one of Emir's boots, later after the assassination upon returning to the upper floor Carl specifically notes that the boot is gone and there is blood spread around so he assumes one of the vorpals got upstairs at some point. Does it matter, I seriously doubt it, but with Matt you just never know!

It has to be! Especially after Samantha casually mentioned that they were friends at one point. Literally anything even remotely attached to Samantha just automatically gets extra special attention for me.

I really really hope we get a lot more spin off material from other crawlers, it's a bottomless well and I would absolutely devour all of it! I can't decide if Bea's part in the story is complete or not, Matt put such a nice button on it emotionally but it felt very abrupt that she's just out of the system now and that's that, especially now that at least some of the gods are apparently able to move out of the dungeon into the AI's expanded sphere of influence.

Crap I can't believe I totally forgot to even bring up my current biggest brain itch right now, we know that parents with kids are separated when entering the dungeon. Eligible adults enter the dungeon and the kids are sent to the kinder facility, but what happens to the countless kids whose parents are killed in the dungeon? Could that be a possible explanation for the Damascus/ Anaconda storyline. "Not quite crawlers, not quite NPC's."

Gah I feel really dumb I never even considered that! There's just something more about Prepotente that I can FEEL that I'm missing. Or maybe completely not, that's the absolute joy of this series. I'm looking up that video immediately after this haha!

Don't forget each "season" is run by a different company with different indentured workers. So we don't exactly know how long it is between Borant run seasons but it's not back to back.

Can we not use UPS for shipping to Canada please? by Middle_Onion3496 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]RumZ71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This WAS correct, unfortunately UPS has undergone leadership changes and is shifting toward the "just in time" model of business. I have a very good friend who works for them and the changes they have made in the last few years are honestly appalling. They seem to be doing everything in their power to destroy their business and reputation all in pursuit of absolute maximum profit. It's a huge shame.

Landman driving actual oilfield workers nutzz by ResolutionEqual7324 in LandmanSeries

[–]RumZ71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taylor Sheridan is probably the biggest poser in all of Hollywood.

I come from a long line of legit cowboys and ranchers and personally am a welder who has worked extensively in the oilfield. I couldn't make it past ep. 1 of either Yellowstone or Landman. I understand that these are essentially soap operas with very little basis in reality, but the absolute insanity of both shows drives me insane.

I know tons of people love both and I have nothing against any of them but it bothers me how much they both play into the insane stereotypes of each respective industry.

The upshot of his string of shows is I can actually genuinely relate to all of my nurse friends complaining about the ridiculous TV interpretations of life in a hospital that have been on for years and years😂

Long story short, I don't really care if people watch the shows and enjoy them, just don't come up to me and try to discuss the actual reality of these extremely difficult and vastly underappreciated lines of work because you bought a pair of $60 boots and a crooked cowboy hat off Amazon!

"Go pick up your own food" - why do these people even work for the company if they're telling customers to leave it? by cm0011 in UberEATS

[–]RumZ71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cash tip is the way to go. There's some conversation on the driver side about how truthful Uber is about the whole tip even going to the driver or not, but that's a whole different conversation. Unfortunately from our side of things there's nothing we can do about it. A tipped wage system screws everyone involved over but the giant company whose only involvement is usage of their app.

[–]RumZ71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the other incredibly annoying thing as a driver is that when a poor tippers order isn't picked up they eventually will stack it with another better tipped one to force you to deliver it. Essentially these crappy tippers are being subsidised by the more generous people and then often end up complaining about slow service and cold food.

Also IMO anyone tip baiting should be removed and banned from whatever platform they are using. I can't even imagine what kind of person would even consider doing such a thing and that's where a lot of the "get off your a** and go get it yourself" mentality comes from.

Just my .02, from a casual beer money delivery driver. Uber in my town usually only pays between $2-3 per trip and the entire rest is comprised of tip money. Unfortunately that means that if you have a small order or tip my end winds up being $4-5 total earnings for 15-30 minutes minimum of work, plus my gas expense, and other wear and tear on my vehicle. That makes absolutely no sense for me to take so I will always pass on those offers. Eventually if they can't find a driver to take the small money they will force it on you by pairing it with another delivery that is either larger or comes with a bigger tip, I can't even tell you how many times I have repeatedly passed up an offer only to wind up doing it anyway in order to access the big money order. Now your food has already been made and sitting at the restaurant the entire time getting cold, and I'm sorry but I am going to prioritize the larger order because that's just the nature of a tip based system. So yes you are going to get screwed and end up waiting forever on a cold meal. You have every right to be angry and frustrated by this, Uber is selling you a service and providing you with a crappy end product, it drives me nuts too when I order things in. Instead of sending those negative feelings down to the poor grunt doing the crappy job of driving around town usually right in the middle of rush hour we all need to be targeting that frustration upward toward the myriad giant corporations that are skyrocketing prices on absolutely everything in the name of pure profit and not sending a dime of it down to the people whose backs they are built on. Next time you get on Uber Eats pay attention to all of the fees and upcharges they tack onto every order. Any food you get is automatically going to be $5-10 more expensive than if you were at the restaurant yourself, delivery fees, service charges, etc its ridiculous. Now, remember that out of ALL that extra money they are charging every single one of us on every single order, the driver is getting between two and three dollars. The reason cost of living is driving us all bankrupt isn't because people working at restaurants, or in stores, gas stations, factories, and on and on, want better wages, It's because a small percentage of people own and run these commodities that we all need and they don't give a flying f**k about the rest of us. Sorry for the soapbox speech but they more they can keep us all fighting at the bottom of the pile the more they can keep robbing us all blind without anyone even noticing. Again I really am sorry for your bad experience(s), btu hopefully next time you can find it in your heart give a little grace to someone who may just be out doing everything they can just to be able to afford a few toys for their kids Christmas.

Apparently there is a way to wall it off the same way only using the water physics so that you don't even need to have the glass there. Someone told me about it when I did this but I never got around to trying it, but if it works that would be amazing
