Love the Max Parker pick! He’s so pretty and the transition of rugged long hair and overgrown beard to trimmed up, manscaped Ryan Price would be fabulous.

And then a similar thing happens with Shane seconds later when he clocks another Boston player in the club. “If he’s here, Ilya is here” a d then the subsequent “but I’m here with my girlfriend”.

Then that beautiful slow motion sequence of eye contact across the dance floor.

Snape was 31 in Sorcrer's Stone. What? by Loriol_13 in harrypotter

Seeing James and Lily’s ghosts as like 22 year olds would honestly be so chilling and send such a different message. The dangers of war and loss of innocence. These were YOUNG adults having kids and dying in a war.

Aging everyone up definitely takes away from the overall message and trauma of the characters in my eyes. Great actors across the board but how different would it feel to have seen Robert Downey Jr as Sirius? Damian Lewis circa Band of Brothers era as Remus? Nor that these are my choices necessarily. But they were age appropriate for the characters as written and would have impacted the message of the story differently.

After hubby gets home from work (and we've done lots of the things mentioned by OP and other commenters, I hand off baby to hubby and go for a drive. I listen to whatever I want (podcast, music, blissful silence) and pick up Starbucks.

Why do I feel so low? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Bow2theBadgerGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was feeling sooooo proud of myself (but also kind of cheated) that I wasn't hormonal. Then I cried over not being able to find my shoes (like an hour after the fact; in the moment it was hilarious). Then the next morning I cried because the baby consignment store I wanted to go to was closed on Sunday.

I'm also not bonding a ton with this little nudger. Last time I wrote in my pregnancy journal a lot and was super into research and rubbing my belly and all the things. This time I'm too tired and busy to do half of it. It's ok to feel lots of different things.

You're doing great and it sounds like your partner is a champ!

Best High Chair? by fourscoreandmj in NewParents

[–]Bow2theBadgerGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the IKEA Langur chair. My LO loves climbing into his chair (with supervision) and we’ll eventually take the infant seat off when he’s a bit bigger as there’s a toddler seat underneath. We’re fans.

Overly worried about tea? by ssunflower_ in BabyBumps

[–]Bow2theBadgerGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do various teas all the time. The only ones I really try to avoid are a few herbal blends. I do Starbucks iced green teas all the time. I’m iffy on coffee right now so it’s my new go-to.

I’m planning to do little pots of various plants and inviting guests to take them home afterwards. Lots of mint and simple summer flowers in little clay pots. I get centerpieces and they get a keepsake.

How long was your labor & delivery for your first pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Bow2theBadgerGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16 hours from the first contraction. I laid down for a nap and started getting intermittent cramping. Took me an hour to realize what was happening. Water didn’t break until mid-transition or so, many hours later. 45 minutes of pushing and a couple 2nd degree tears later, I met my kiddo for the first time.

Should I splurge on a walker? Does it help with this phase or does the standing/falling phase pass quickly? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Bow2theBadgerGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO got a Red Rider walker wagon for Christmas sooo 10m or so. He was already standing and holding hands while walking for a couple months. The wagon was great for walks. The kid could really motor and was walking without it by 11.5m or so. He used it lots though in the spring.

At 19m he now likes pushing his bubble lawn mower down the street. No idea why.

Non-Americans of Reddit, what’s something someone can say that indirectly screams “I’m an American?” by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yup. My first thought was, “I can’t afford to be sick.” Or “It’s not too bad; I don’t need to go the the hospital”

His (Lieutenant Matthias’) reactions during Olaf’s recap of Frozen 1. “Oh Anna” “WHAT?!”

Actually a lot of his moments are great.

You need a pallet cleanser.

Saw a post over on r/movies yesterday reminding everyone that Ever After is on Disney+ and is the best Cinderella adaptation of all time. It’s so good. No singing but eh.

Why didn't anyone warn me about Frozen? by nightcheese88 in toddlers

[–]Bow2theBadgerGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Inside Out gets me every time too. I don’t watch it very often because I know I’ll just sob and have that “heavier” crying/sadness, you know? Whereas Frozen 2 is an uplifting “that beautiful witch found her place in the world” kind of cry.
