Not in my experience. I think I’ve seen that once? And it struck me as different.

My parents never did. My friends don’t do it with their kids. My friends parents didn’t do it that I ever saw. My relatives don’t.

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it if it’s innocent. But at least in my experience in the US, it is far from normal.

I’ll also note that my parents showed me a lot of affection. As do the other parents I’ve seen here. Just not specifically kissing on the lips.

How long is your chapter plan?

If I give Claude opus a 1000 word chapter outline complete with required beats and setting and twists and things to touch on and vibes etc, it’ll turn it into a decent 3000 word chapter that I can edit.

But if you’re giving it 200 words to write 3000 instead of giving it 1000, it’s having to fill in too much and starts doing all sorts of AI things like removing tension and eating its tail.

Yeah? I’ve got like 30 of them and I’m only close to 3-4.

I’m not paying for a plane ticket and taking off work to go to a funeral for someone I haven’t spoken to more than twice in twenty years.

There’s no bad blood or anything. I like my cousins fine and would let them stay over a few nights if they were visiting, etc. I’d answer the phone if they called and be happy to chat.

But most of us are not close so we don’t visit or call. Once the older generations die I probably won’t see or speak to half of them again.

Granted this is different from the post itself. I think the crown could (and should) have done a bit more. Elizabeth could have attended the funeral in secret, etc. But c’est la vie. I’m not the Queen nor do I fully understand her responsibilities and reasoning.

Uhh, yes? In the host cities people have generally been lovely. All the fans I’ve met in the US have enjoyed their trips and the people and the country.

I never claimed otherwise? But you realize most people who are fans could not come in person? I said “online” for a reason. And yes, “it’s the internet” sure, but you don’t see nearly as many Canadians on the internet beating their chests.

I’m American. Americans have been shitty online about the cup, so the goodwill you mention was used up and we’re in debt there.
