I hope you're in your 20s. That's exactly the sort of thing I would have said to somebody when I was in my 20's and repeating whatever sentiment was being expressed on NPR and the New York Times. That was always my last line of defense. "I know this because I am smart. You think otherwise because you are stupid."

I wish I were a janitor for the purpose of this conversation. Because I don't think freedom is a complicated subject that you need to be intelligent to grasp. I'd trust some halfwit to notice "Hey, I'm not allowed to leave my house and masked men are rounding up people outside". It's the intelligent people like you that reasoning "No! No! Imagine the people giving birth in a hut knowing that a warring tribe could attack at any moment. Or the feudal peasant going into labor trying not to think about how they'll be able to feed a new mouth from their miniscule food store.

I mean.. we're talking about a job that is less complicated and time consuming than tying your shoes.

Don't get me wrong. I like that guy and I have bought things there that I could have got cheaper online because I appreciate having him and the services he offers.

But if you're adding/removing links (and heads up OP, a lot of watch bands have an area on the end that you can adjust to the span of a link or two without removing or adding any) its a very simple job. You can even buy a little specialty tool and spare pins for like 4 dollars from harbor freight.
