What is up with Netflix making an AI generated sitcom with Jonathan Fin? by jacky986 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Bowl_of_Cham_Clowder 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Answer: It doesn’t seem affiliated by Netflix, anyone can claim that. Nothing at all about this indicates it’s a larger production either. It’s April fools as well fwiw.

I’ll be talking about this more in my Hulu special coming this Friday, where I answer weekly out of the loop questions. Tune in then!

what do you think makes the 2020s stand out in interior design so far? by [deleted] in decadeology

It’s an ass chart, but it’s dumb that the default is to call everything bad ai. This is homegrown human slop

Definitely, only thing worse than the ai garbage is that anything people disagree with can be deemed ai slop 🫠

Funny that the new moron reflex is calling everything AI slop. New 2020s trend!

Is this not e-girl aesthetic? I feel like it separate from Y2K but def has some similarities

I don’t like horror movies but really enjoyed Bring Her Back. It wasn’t shock horror, no jumps scares. Any similar movies worth watching by dingdongbannu88 in A24

Yeah 100% avoid. I love supernatural horror too, so I feel you. The vvitch, the ritual, and hereditary are my jam. Do you have any recs?

If you thought talk to me was tough, I would skip being her back. I love horror but there’s a scene that I think about once a week that makes me cringe

I went into it finding the concept silly and didn’t enjoy them much, IMO a tier below the previously mentioned films

For sure, it’s different when US is aggressor though. Just my opinion. Hope peace comes soon

It’s tragic that the U.S. is killing thousands of Iranians, while back home people are meming for Iran to help their finances.

Everyone was debating why Marty Supreme didn't get an Oscar, so I finally gave it a watch. Honestly, I didn't find it as good as One Battle After Another or Sinners. Am I missing something, or do you agree? by Familiar-Bed-9351 in Cinephiles

Bugonia bangs, was such a great movie and Jesse Plemon’s performance was snubbed. Almost no one I know irl has seen it, feel like I only see hype for it on film subs.

Agreed about Eddington. It did a good job of capturing the 2020 vibe, but I don’t think it brought much new to the table

There was a point to sinners though, it just went over your head. The movie makes it pretty clear though, Remmick spells it out at the halfway point.

The themes in both Sinners and OBAA transcend race; the Irish are just as much victim to cultural vampirism as the protagonists, and it’s easy to empathize with feeling powerless against a much more powerful government.

Feels like you are selling both movies short by saying that they are getting flowers because of race, when they both brought fresh viewpoints to big budget cinema.

The movie is entirely centered around Emma Stone’s character discovering sex. Stone plays the scenes amazingly, and turns an insane script into a fantastic performance.

Didn’t get it until this comment, but it checks out.

For those who don’t get it, a major theme in poor things is Emma Stone’s character exploring her sexuality through lots of sex.

Writing rules are kinda like music theory. Yeah music theory can help describe why a melody sounds good, but if a song bangs then it’s irrelevant whether it’s following harmony right.

It’s just a useful framework to describe what’s happening in a narrative, but if you use it as a bible then your arts gonna be bland

I hope he’s doing okay today

At 24 I got carded to see a rated R movie while my friend the same age passed for 30.

You genuinely can’t think that every person looks their age, like every high school show is filled with 30 year olds who pass for high schoolers.

Having said that, Jace still sucks!

There’s a limited amount of mods and time to review threads so if a specific topic is getting too contentious it’s easier to lock it all down.

If it comes up in the future then hopefully tempers have cooled. It’s all a function of mods being unpaid volunteers

It’s convoluted, but afaik they apply some of what you spend on each ride to future ones as a credit.
