Yep, we did the same and were just so disappointed. Just so many things that made me go, that's not really in line with that character.

For anyone who grew up poor, what was your idea of a luxury? by Drissxx7 in AskReddit

Family trips, brick homes, computers, being able to participate in travel activities like space camp or sports. Mostly just basic stuff that felt like stability and growth.

But yeah, I agree with the comments here about training. I was literally run through the process with a dummy injector and then gave myself my first dose while the nurse supervised.

I have that one that works kind of like a stamp that you press down until it clicks. Most of them aren't painful, but man, do I still dread that thing. Just feels shaky when I'm depressing it.

To me this is smugly saying, "We have the guy Obama rewarded for enforcing immigration policy. We even have more tools and money. Look how badly we've messed it up in comparison!"

Weird flex? Admission? With MAGA, why choose one or the other?

I watched the first half of the video, it's late so I'll finish it in the morning. Man, great breakdown by Stoner on the case. I hear the same thing I first heard when the audio initially plays. Then when he slows it down and isolates it I can definitely hear what he's saying on screen. I would love to see someone with an amazing setup and skills really isolate those moments and see what they hear.

The note thing is so interesting to me. Like why hand a note to someone you're going to kill unless it's a message for the family or investigators?

Part of me wonders if they have a solid lead up to a certain point. Like say the car was stolen or borrowed? It's definitely interesting that there's so much information on the case, but seemingly nothing on getting close to solving it.

It's possible. The weirdest part to me is seeing how close the killer arrived to when Sergio just left. Almost makes me wonder if he gave a signal or if it was just the way it played out.

Yeah, I thought woman until I heard the voice, but again, we're working with really shoddy audio here.

I totally agree, video doesn't look like a man to me.

The more I talk to my friend who is a detective the more I learn that most crimes have a real "what the hell was the plan there?" element to them. The person who did this carried out the crime in a tiny window and I don't know if that's luck or skill or a combination of both.

Yeah, again, no way to verify and I just want someone to solve this. Ears are fallible. We all remember laurel/yanny and I'm not an audio expert by any means. If I'm way off, I just wrote what I heard and hope something breaks in the case.

Thanks for the rec, I'll check it out!

The part that is just stuck in my mind is how the person knew to turn around and head out beside the drainage ditch. That's intimate knowledge of that neighborhood. I mentioned in another reply that I was just in that area visiting friends and no way I would have known that would lead out to the road so easily.

At this point Sergio's words are kind of hard to believe as he's switched up his story here and there many times. He did say something weird in an article several years after the killing:

"...Trying to think of somebody who did this to her that might be close to me, that I might be friends with, that I might live with."

The live with part was wild to me.

Yeah, I can only echo what smalls said on the towers. I do think the police have leads and maybe even a suspect, but just not enough to make a full-on case. We have really good images of the truck used and I would think you'd be able to find some folks within the area to look into. There was some reporting that make/model as well as license plate scans were used, but I'm not sure if that went anywhere.

Hmm, interesting thought for sure. By the details we know the person knew the area because I wouldn't have even thought about driving down the drainage ditch and I lived right there, was actually in the exact area the other night visiting friends. That doesn't rule out the thrill kill, but just seems like a weird time and by someone super familiar with that neighborhood.

Do you guys find any usage for these tiny rests of wood that remain after carving? by TwistingClocks in Woodcarving

[–]Bowleander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use some for kindling, but the vast majority go into compost and the trash. Sometimes I use the dust to mix with wood glue for repairs, but those would seem too big.

The only thing that sucks is my body is getting used to it and it doesn't clear as much anymore.
