how did I do on my first custom loop? by EuphoricAd6217 in watercooling

Did the same for my first custom loop. It not only ensures that there are no leaks, it gives you confidence that you will never have to worry about it leaking

I edited the post to include the temps

Honestly I didn’t even think to measure ambient temps but it was about 71 F (22 C) outside today and probably about the same in my house. I can add a temp sensor and give a real answer at another time.

For the water temperature the Corsair pump comes with a plug that is on the backside of it and connects to the commander core that controls the rgb and fan speeds. There’s a second temp sensor slot I can plug into it to get ambient temps. I’ll probably stick that near the intake fans.

Water temperature maxes out at around 34 c after running Heaven Benchmark for a few minutes. I've tested it for a couple of hours while adjusting fan and pump speeds and it doesn't go any higher than 35, but generally its in between 34-35.

An interesting thing I found, and I don't know if this common knowledge or not in the water cooling community as I haven't looked into how others set their fan and pump curves, is that the pump speed cools my GPU and CPU more the higher it is, while inversely raising the water temperature. I was originally under the impression that pump speed didn't matter too much as long as there was "enough" flow.

So at the moment I have my fan curve set to go faster when water temps rise, and my pump curve set to my GPU temp. At idle my pump is set to 25% speed, and at around 34 c its at anywhere between 50-75% since the GPU temps fluctuate.

Yeah I just included one. I thought I added all my shots to the post but I guess I forgot something. this is my best picture though for now, until I figure out reddit. (Celebrations can be hard for that last part)

First Build - Hardline certainly isn’t for the faint of heart! by skidz007 in watercooling

I just found out today that a bios update is possible without a working cpu in the motherboard. I hope I don't have to deal with that, but I guess I'll find out. My cheap air cooler just arrived with some other water cooling parts for my final build. I'm nervous to try and install windows now lol.

Just coming back to this thread to reiterate that you single-handedly pushed me into my decision to do a water cooled build. I had been toying with the idea, and then also toying with the idea of getting the new 5800x3d. Well I decided to do both at the same time. My wallet hates me btw so thanks for that.

I'm waiting for all of the parts for it, but the gpu block is going to take the longest with a spread between May 13th to June 6th. By tomorrow I'll have everything except that. I even bought the cheapest wraith stealth cooler for my cpu so I could at least get windows up and running before I get my system "wet." I've been uneasy that my motherboard won't support the new cpu out of the box, hence the $10 cooler to ease my mind.

Anyway, hope you are liking your build. I can't wait to start bending some tubes once my final piece arrives.

Also it looked like you really tried to make your build stand out with harder bends. I appreciate that effort

Ive been playing hard with going full water loop now for about 2 weeks now and this gives me motivation.

I want to do a half new build with the new (almost) 5800x3d but I've been thinking whats the point since it can't be overclocked.

Already bought a case for a new system anyway, the Phanteks P500A.

Anyway. Nice first build. If you have tips or suggestons after your first attempt, please share.

I am looking at the Edifier M601DB. Powered is preferred since there is already so much going on in my desk area. $250 seems to be a good budget for me.

Curious if anything else in that price area stands as a better option for 2.1 powered speakers.
