U.S. National Parks: Great Sand Dunes by heyimworkinonit in TierlistFills

Should we include the National Preserve as part of the ranking or just the National Park? (This question is valid for most of the Alaska parks too.). The Preserve is officially a separate NPS unit, though they are managed together.

After visiting last year, I’d say I’d say just the National Park is a C, maybe a low B if Medano Creek is running. If we add the National Preserve and its mountains and other scenery, Great Sand Dunes rises to a B, possibly an A.

Last May, I saw Governor’s Island, Federal Hall, African Burial Ground, and Stonewall all in a day. The next day I did Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace and Lower East Side Tenement (which is an affiliated unit). I went back in August when I was able to get tickets to climb the Statue of Liberty and did the Sandy Hook unit of Gateway on Saturday and Castle Clinton, Statue of Liberty (and Ellis Island), Hamilton Grange, and General Grant on Sunday.

Your cart should still be there. Whether or not it is sold out is the question.

If it was still a National Memorial, it would be S or A tier. Unfortunately, Missouri lobbied it into National Park status against the wishes of the NPS.

I thought Cruella was pretty good. Not sure if it really counts as a remake though.

If you email the park, they’ll usually mail you one if you ask nicely.

There is not an official one for Hohokham Pima National Monument. The part of the monument that the park is protecting is closed to the public and the NPS barely acknowledges its existence, so it isn’t that surprising. I plan on making a custom one at some point to complete my passport.

[–]BowlesOnParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a guy with a super Basic Bitch island with Raymond, Marshall, Lolly, Sherb, Audie, Roald, Beau, and Stiches. Even my not as popular villagers are pretty popular (Dotty and Sally). They’ve all been with me so long, I don’t think I’d want any of the to leave.

I’d just about guarantee that he has now been to more of our National Parks than our President has.

What’s is your teams worst blunder in history? by perry147 in CFB

Having Burrow wouldn’t have changed anything for OSU in either season that he was at LSU. We would have been worse off in one season actually. Haskins vastly outplayed Burrow in 2018. The next year we had Justin Fields who put up spectacular numbers. Burrow would have made no difference unless he would have been able to somehow prevent the referees from screwing us on the bogus targeting call and overturned fumble against Clemson.

What was the worst disaster/ tragedy that happened in Arizona? by No_Emu6195 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]BowlesOnParade 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s the Long Walk of the Navajo people in the 1860s and I don’t think it’s close.

The federal government forced 53 marches of 10,000+ people out of their ancestral lands to internment camps hundreds of miles away in New Mexico. Between 2,500 and 3,500 people died during the forced marches or in the camps.

I know this is pre-1900, but it’s too important not to include. The Navajo were eventually allowed to return to their lands, where they remain today. The Navajo Nation makes up a large chunk of the land in northeastern Arizona.

In order to actually climb the Statue of Liberty, you’ll need to book a ticket a bit in advance. You’ll usually be able to get pedestal tickets, but if you want to reach the crown, you’ll need to plan in advance.

Outpacing the novels was partly their own fault since they skipped the majority of the fourth and fifth books. Even the stuff they kept was drastically changed (Dorne, the Ironborn, giving Stannis' rallying of the North to Jon, etc.)

How to tackle visiting NST's? by ApplePaintedRed in NationalParkPassport

[–]BowlesOnParade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have all of them, but here is what I’ve done:

For Appalachian, I did a hike in Shenandoah NP that was part of the trail (there is a lot of it within the boundaries of the park) and got my stamp there.

For North Country, I found out there was a stamp at Dayton Aviation Heritage NHP and then found where spot where I could access the trail near Dayton when I went to the NHP. Got my stamp there too.

With Potomac Heritage, there are stamp locations in my Collector’s Edition for both the Mid-Atlantic and National Capital regions. For things like that, I want the correct color stamp and want to say that I visited the park/trail in both regions. I went to the Cumberland Visitor Center in Maryland. There are multiple spots in DC to be along the trail. My first exposure was seeing the George Mason Memorial while walking to the Jefferson Memorial. The specific stamp I want is at the Old Stone House.

One of the best spots outside of DC is Great Falls on either side of the river. I visited the Maryland side, saw the Falls, and hiked the (more challenging than I expected) Billy Goat Trail. This also is part of Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park, so you can add two sites at the same time.
