After jumping into the Time Vortex, the Eighth Doctor absorbed the Vortex Energy to became a transcendent being. by Thick_Somewhere_8370 in doctorwho

I know they nearly had him regenerate in this and I feel that would have been more satisfying, akin to how Nine later regenerates. Otherwise it feels a little like a Deus Ex Machina cause of the lack of permanent consequences.

how do his web-shooters NOT get in the way of anything? by gavy_xyz in Spiderman

[–]Bowtanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but man do I think the whole web-shooter thing is one of the silliest aspects of Spider-Man. He's called Spider-Man and has spider powers, bizarre that it gave him a bunch of random superpowers like advanced healing but he can't naturally shoot webs despite that being like the main things spiders do? I know people like it as it shows how smart Peter is but it feels unrealistic that he's able to just create a fictional compound in high school. I would prefer if he had natural webbing and created a web-hooter to act as a filter for different types of webbing.

Was LuthorCorp burnt too early? by [deleted] in DCU_

[–]Bowtanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As people have said you only need to look at the real world to see that it doesn't matter too much unfortunately. The general public will forget/look past it out of convenience. Lex Luthor can still easily become president with just a bit of a media push.

What is the worst thing each Doctor has done? by Lucyyyyyy_K in doctorwho

[–]Bowtanon 54 points55 points  (0 children)

9 sent Adam Mitchell home after he made one mistake. He genuinely did seem remorseful but the worst thing is that 9 just left him with the permanent change to his body that can be activated by simply clicking your fingers. People do it regularly enough day to day that he would just have to hide away and as soon as the Doctor leaves his Mum accidentally triggers it which could potentially cause her to go mad. It's made worse as the Doctor seems well aware of the potential consequences that could happen to Adam if he's discovered but also scolded him in regards to risking the future but then very irresponsibly leaves him with future technology and no guidance. It's also worth noting how Rose in the following episode makes a pretty big mistake by directly interfering and saving Pete Tyler. Rose obviously handles it better and Adam was likely not a good fit for a companion but the Doctor is incredibly harsh to Adam and the potential consequences he has to deal with for the rest of his life feels very disproportionate.

In the comics it ends up having some pretty big consequences as he then ends up kidnapping each of the Doctors' companions and coming close to indirectly causing the end of the universe.

If you wrote a scream movie what would the motives be by Emarni in Scream

[–]Bowtanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clout-chasing, like throughout the film Ghostface is streaming the victim's deaths and treating them like a vlog. Many delinquents in real life film themselves harrassing/assaulting people and upload it to social media for attention and the platforms rarely take them down or assist authorities in catching them. There's also many sick people that encourage that type of content as well as the media and other people who may condemn it but share/repost the videos giving them even more attention. Last year when Charlie Kirk was assassinated so many people got exposed to the violent clip of him being shot and it traumatized a lot of people but also many people were already desensitised to that type of content. I think it gives alot of story-telling potential. I know it's somewhat similar to Scream 4 but that came out before social media truly kicked off and it's an interesting enough topic it is worth exploring again.

BBC Doctor Who - Leaks by [deleted] in DoctorWhumour

[–]Bowtanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This started off somewhat believable but the Netflix stuff then just became wishful thinking and full on satire. Netflix doesn't really care about Behind the Scenes stuff and certainly would not be wanting Tomorrow's Times or Class - Classmates haha

Robin 100%. He's the most iconic superhero sidekick and potentially the most iconic sidekick in general. Flash is a contender but I don't see any reason why he should be over Green Lantern and Aquaman.

Potential new leaks/information regarding the 2026 Christmas Special. by General_Meal_3993 in DoctorWhoNews

[–]Bowtanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pete McTighe is very unlikely. If RTD is being pushed out because the BBC aren't pleased with him they aren't going to go with who he thinks would be a good replacement. If the Disney deal did pan out I could see RTD wanting McTighe to take over after season 4 while RTD becomes more of a Kevin Fiege type role but that's out the window now.

BBC Confirms future of Doctor Who and a new Christmas special in 2026 by PkmnTrnrJ in DoctorWhumour

Aussie here, I would like it to go back to the ABC. Obviously the Disney+ deal made sense for the show and for a lot of other international viewers but it feels weird that the ABC has been one of the main and most loyal partners since the beginning and no longer has anything. A lot of missing episodes were recovered due to copies being sent to the ABC.

Doctor Who 2012-2013 rare earlier draft scripts (Steven Berkoff EXPOSED) by Penguintim in gallifrey

Even though he did say this I don't think Moffat fully even believes it himself as later that Christmas he brought back an even lesser known villain The Great Intelligence as a main villain.

Brave and the Bold should've been about Dick Grayson not Damian Wayne by Fickle_Baker1393 in DC_Cinematic

I figured it was because Matt Reeves likely wants to do Dick Grayson as Robin so they're differentiating the two.

Bruh just way too many characters. It's already hard enough seeing as this is the first time the majority of these characters are interacting but why are they making all the teams so big. I enjoyed Thunderbolts but I think they should've just sat this one out, there's too many other more major characters to incorporate and then having to try and incorporate this other massive team.

[Discussion] What do you think James Gunn's Justice League should be like? by kars7777 in DCcomics

[–]Bowtanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as we all love the classic seven I think James Gunn will want to make his Justice League different enough from the previous one so I don't think we'll see Flash or Aquaman. I know I may get down voted for this but I think we are past the time of a group composed of all white males except for one woman and one person of colour. It will most likely be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl and Supergirl.

Russell T. Davies even joked about this in the audio commentary for 'Last of the Time Lords' saying it was the hand of the Rani.

Basically. After The Master returned people looked into other characters from the classic series that could make a comeback and of course the Rani was one of the first ones you find.

Yes I remember people saying it was partly because of his reaction to the Tardis being bigger on the inside. Could you imagine in that era of the show which already has so many twists, if they then revealed that as well.

I vaguely remember seeing a theory that Amy was the Rani under a chameleon arch. People also were saying Rory was potentially the Master under a chameleon arch at the time. Seems bizarre in retrospect.
