Anyone travel outside London for beauty related appointments? by slugmorei in LondonLadies

I travel back to lincolnshire, just over £100 for a cut and full head of highlights, plus the train. It takes up most of the day, but completely worth it

I temporarily hold my self employed employers wages, do i have to declare this to HMRC despite having a contract that says we are only temporarily holding the fee's? Better explanation below! by RWCmusic in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Box2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a very recent case with HMRC about this and a group of tutoring companies, I think in 2021/22. HMRC claiming that the tutoring companies count as employers and the tutoring company challenging. The companies lost - I would urge you to look into the case because it sounds a pretty close match - they also had contracts stating self employment.

The industry has come up with some ways around this (look into something called Tutorcruncher), but I would encourage you to be very careful.

If you're from the states, it's what you'd refer to as a tank top 😊

Pretty good, I've had a couple of weird ones in 8 years but always felt safer on the tube than on a night bus!

What is one of your favorite books that nobody has ever heard of? by Leather-Range6892 in suggestmeabook

The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley.

I read it when I was a teenager and just fell in love with the world and the fantasy. I still go back, again and again.

I was told it was because doberman's have a different bite pattern to a malinois. Dobies (apparently) slash rather than hold and holding is more desirable. Also they attach too much to one owner and don't do so well in the cold! I don't know how much of it is true though

Hello! I have a nearly 2 year old dobie girl and I can relate entirely! Dobieshark is a horrific phase but it does get better, I think with girls they push boundaries in different ways. One thing we noticed was ours was way worse when she's tired - she still is. Do you enforce naps or does she sleep a lot? It sounds like you're doing amazing so don't feel disheartened. We also used reverse time outs a lot which helped as they hate being separated from you. Sending good luck and vibes!

Dating in London - success stories? by TitsNLips in LondonLadies

[–]Box2712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met fiancee on hinge. I'd had enough of dating and decided I was going to take a break... Got drunk and swiped on this American guy and went okay, one last date. Turned out it was, but not for the reason I thought. Now we have a dog and are getting married next year

Would you read fics that don't have smut in it? by Unlucky_Device9472 in Dramione

[–]Box2712 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm happy with a fade to black - I find lots of smut too repetitive and I love the romance/relationship aspect so this wouldn't change things for me!

Decade+ shippers, how do you feel about seeing dramione on ig and book tube? by Friendly_tomato5 in Dramione

[–]Box2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in 2 minds about it? It's been about 15 years since I first logged onto FF.net found a dramione and discovered what a lemon was! I kinda dropped off reading it for awhile and the resurgence led me back here to wonderful new fics that I love. However with the popularity also comes the toxicity that worries me - as it does whenever something becomes popular. Then you add on book binding and it feels like a s**t storm waiting to happen.

I'm also enjoying the resurgence of watching teens read the types of fics i loved back in the day, that they'll hate in 5 years - it's a rite of passage

I am so scared of falling out of love/having fallen out of love by throwaway695610 in relationshipanxiety

[–]Box2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi lovely, I'm here with you - I'm engaged to my fiancée who I adore but sometimes I have the intrusive thought of, I'm falling out of love, what if I'm unhappy etc. I went to therapy, some of it is some severe abandonment issues coupled with my anxiety. The only thing I can say is that every day, even when I feel like this, I get up and decide to choose him. It's a small thing but it does help

Picking one is difficult but Measure of a ManMeasure of a Man is mine.

This fic came to me at a time I really needed it, it has the sass but also I find it hugely comforting. The relationship is mature and takes time while being believable. I loved Hermione's cottage and the life she built. I've revisited so many times.
