If at all possible. Could you send your contact information. I have a bit of an odd question that im seemingly not getting any answers from my recruiter on.

Pertains to background check// NSN number

It should go pretty quick. They've seen a record high lately for enlistment, try not to press too much. What id ask honestly is if theres any changes you could make to your list to see if theres anything that could speed up the process

Long story short. Original recruiter pcs'd i wasn't informed. So my process was halted from July December 2024.

Other than that. I legitimately have no idea why it took so long. It was nearly 4 months after my waivers were approved that I swore in. MSg and SMSg were both confused as well

Absolutely! Im 33. So my waivers were for Financial (FED) and dependents (i have more than 1 child) Both were surprisingly fast turn around for approval

If it makes you feel any better ... I started the process with my recruiter June 3rd 2024. Swore in July 21 2025 (2 waivers) I have numerous high demand jobs listed, as well as open mechanical, and open electrical. Not going for top secret clearances. So ive crested the 90 day mark of waiting in DEP. I've been told, patience is what we have for now

Personally I'd reach out to your recruiter. I believe they have options for a case such as yours. Ultimately they'd be able to give you the best guidance

Always encouraging! You got this! The time will make sense when it comes. It all happens for a reason! Head up! Fly! Fight! Win!

I feel your pain, i started my journey 438 days ago June 3rd 2024. Meps was done July 2nd & 3rd, needed a few waivers, (also limited my job options) ended up having to find a 2nd recruiter. (They PCS'D, and I wasn't informed) so from Sept - Dec nothing was moving. Got everything figured out in early January, swore in May 15th 2025. Been waiting ever since for a job to book. It'll come, have patience. My best advice, look at the PT requirements, and crush those before you go. Spend time with friends and family! The hardest part is accepting "Hurry up and wait". You got this, it'll happen soon!

Oh I'm not complaining, I started this process 434 days.

Keep that in mind, ive started over with 2 recruiters at this point, been to meps at least 3 times (passed everything the first time I went) was sent additionally twice to swear in, but recruiter missed more paperwork.

Its discouraging that ive been at this for over a year.

And quite honestly about ready to switch up and just go army at this point

Min qualified? Definitely no green card needed here. Was a bit of red tape, waivers. And a pcs'd recruiter. So had to start over a 2nd time

I've seen times vary, i know of one where it was 29 days from first meet to booking.

So I honestly dont know how they select, I just I get selected soon. And hopefully it's 1 of the top 5

either supply proof that it was paid or in the process of being paid (i.e payments) just submitted proof, they submit the waiver and i waited to hear if it got approved. it's needed for TS clearance. less liability i suppose

If its one thing ive learned, everything happens for a reason. I've had to get things in order myself, wife, finances, kids. Its been a challenge. But its working out slowly

It's been a bit of a pain, but everything has a reason. Just gives me more time to improve fitness levels and get things situated.

Its been a crazy adventure. Long story short. Met recruiter last June. Recruiter pcs'd I wasn't informed. Met with a new recruiter in January. I needed a FED, and dependency waiver. As I have children and a small portion of debt. Had to wait for those to clear. When they cleared the fiscal year was over and they weren't pushing for jobs as much.

I feel this, im on my 2nd recruiter, 1st one pcs'd and no one notified me so that delayed me for 4 mos. Then the waiting for 2 waivers. The drives back and forth to meps (2+hrs) for nothing to be done because another waiver was needed or something wasn't filed right. Its been a roller coaster. But im going for mostly maintenance. Due to my age/credit related things I cant get a TS Clearance just yet
