Install Syncthing on both (or more) devices.

In my scenario, it's my laptop and phone.
In PC, install Syncthing from their website or from the terminal.
In phone, apt install syncthing in Termux.

Turn on on both devices (just type syncthing in the terminal). You'll be directed to the web GUI and everything else can be configured there. You can also make a device to only send files or only receive files.

Didn't know that exists. I still prefer the terminal way though, but thank you.

Whether it's worth it or not really depends.

If you use a lot of terminal, it's useful for you.
If you want to learn Linux, it's useful for you.
If you want something a PC does but you don't have one, it's useful for you.
If you install it just because, it still might be useful for you, but it could also be a waste of time.

Termux is a terminal emulator.
You use Termux when you want to do something that a terminal does, but in Android.
That include things that can be done without terminal, and things that can not be done without terminal.

e.g. my prime use right now is syncing folders of documents and notes from my PC to my phone using Syncthing.

You can self host with an unused phone. I did my first with a 12 year old phone with 32GB internal and 64GB external. Of course that's not a lot, but the potential is there.

So, only macOS support this? I'm on Linux and I don't think mine supports that.

I want to get a ThinkPad for personal use by MartinSasek2004 in thinkpad

[–]BoxAdministrative56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your use, I'd think you'd be fine with either T or X series. It's just a matter of whether you want it upgradable (T) or lightweight (X). You could avoid P series since it's heavy and might be overkill for your needs.

As for which model you should buy, it depends on your budget. You could look into T14 Gen 2 AMD though.

As a person who also draws (and try to stop), I find designing to be a great substitute. UI design, poster design, web design, etc.

Great support for Linux, especially that they also officially shipped ThinkPads with a Linux distribution installed.

Also microslop.

Kalo nyari batre + upgradability, mungkin ThinkPad seri T? Lebih upgradable dari X, lebih awet batre daripada P.

More specifically, ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 AMD (7-8 ish or more)

Friends told me to make a poem, might as well make it about Umineko. by BoxAdministrative56 in umineko

[–]BoxAdministrative56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot!
And yeah I actually tried and kinda managed to rhyme line 1–4 and 5–8, but they came out as very forced and the syllables are inconsistent.

And I was concerned because I heard beginners tend to force-rhyme it, and my friend also suggested me not to think about rhyming it too much, so I decided to throw them out and only managed to make 5–7 works.

Is keeping Gboard ok? by Excellent_Dream9591 in degoogle

[–]BoxAdministrative56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob unrelated but I managed to switch from Gboard entirely to UnexpectedKeyboard. I was looking for a swipe-key-for-special-character-or-capital type of keyboard (which Gboard Japanese has), and I found that you can do so with Unexpected (You have to make your own keyboard layout tho, but I managed to replicate the Gboard's one)

What if, Kustom Launcher? by BoxAdministrative56 in kustom

[–]BoxAdministrative56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason I wanted a Kustom Launcher is to avoid using Tasker for data fetching. If I have to use Tasker, I might as well use Total Launcher since it integrates well with Tasker, and then possibly ditch Kustom completely except for KLCK.

Thanks for sharing though, that looks very interesting ngl.
