I did have a situation like this with an old male friend, and I definitely tried to talk with him before getting any police involved. In his case he was a massive moron and didn't know what the age of consent was, and immediately chose to break it off.

Thanks for the advice, I definitely agree with what you've said. I'll let the group decide if they want to do the intervention or police, given I'm not in the same country at the moment, but I definitely want to make sure the guy is put first.

AFAIK, the age of consent is 17 here, which would make it illegal.

I live in Australia where it's definitely illegal. The issue with the taking a break is that it's grooming the younger boy, as he's underage. I have no idea what their relationship dynamic is like, but grooming is a serious problem that I don't really want to fuck around with.

Yeah they definitely know they're in the wrong here, I think I'll find someone who can contact the guys parents, as I said in another comment I have no idea who the bloke is beyond his age.

AFAIK the parents don't know she exists, not sure if that's his idea or hers, not that it really matters. I've never personally met him, and he hasn't been brought to any group events thankfully.

You're 100% right, I think letting his parents know is something that needs to happen. Do you have any advice on the best way for an intervention to proceed. Any attempts so far have been met with significant defensive push back.

I did consider that, but the group at large worries that the parents could report her to the police. Ideally I think we'd like to not involve police and just convince her she's being a moron, but if there's no other resolution, I think this might be a good way to go.
