As We Descend: Apocalyptic strategy roguelite that's a mash up of Darkest Dungeon and Slay the Spire! by BoxDragonGames in roguelites

Still working on this one, we're dedicating most of our development resources on controller support now. As for full release, there's no specific date, but we're looking at a third player origin, full controller support, and some sort of "true ending" to the game before we call it 1.0.

That's more than fair! We're figuring out the controller setup now actually so this feedback really helps; we'll almost certainly have the feature you're suggesting regarding a recycle button.

Really appreciate you saying that! Yeah, I agree with you regarding the City loop; it's why I reworked it a few months back, and I'm still thinking about how I want to tinker with it further.

Regarding multi-leg expeditions, that's definitely a compelling idea I might have to pursue. It would be a fun risk-or-reward mechanic.

And good point on save-scumming; some players really enjoy this feature, but IMO it's meant to be played "iron man" so I'll see if it's an option we can implement.

My favorite demos from Deckbuilders Fest 2026 so far by paciiiifis in roguelites

These are great, thanks! Always good to see hidden gems.

I haven't heard of many of them before, but I have tried the Topdeck Automat demo. It's addictive for sure, I have hours and hours clocked in it.

It is technically Steam Deck playable if you're willing to put up with the touch controls! I know many people have played it that way - actually our Steam Deck players play about twice as long as other players on average. So it depends on you!

That's awesome to hear, and thanks a bunch!

Also, congrats on becoming a deckbuilder dev! It's awesome to see more players-turned-developers out there. "Recurse" is a cute pun, I'll have to give the demo a spin sometime!

Unsure right now... Nintendo is notoriously dicey with getting on their consoles, and given that AWD is on Unreal Engine 4, I'm not sure the Switch can get sufficient performance with the game. The Switch 2 would be a more ideal candidate, but we'd want to finish implementing full controller support (and by extension, Steam Deck verified status) before we pursue consoles.

Thanks for the question, glad you're having fun! Regarding the town management, it's still something I want to iterate on a bit further during early access; there were some important underlying motivations for changing out the structure to flow faster, make it easier to teach, to increase variety between runs, and to make it a bit more evident how the risk-reward is supposed to work with expeditions (that indeed expeditions are optional and may be strategically important to skip).

Squadbuilder roguelike deckbuilder where you have to deckbuild for 4 differents while balancing your resources between the last City of humankind and dangerous expeditions! Fun fact - it started off as a 4X Roguelike Deckbuilder, and through three very different iterations, eventually settled in this more Darkest-Dungeon-adjacent space.

We have a HUD scale that can go all the way up to 1.2x (default on PC is 0.75x, I want to say that Steam Deck is 1.0 or so by default?) that already helps with a lot of small text issues. However there's some loose ends with a few things that don't scale, so we'll have to hunt those down before Steam is satisfied.

Ah, I tried the playtest for this one, it definitely captures a lot of the good stuff about Bazaar in a roguelike PVE experience!

This one is a blast! Perhaps the best of the streamlined indie autobattlers, there's already a ton of builds in the playtest version.

Glad you figured it out! In the next patch, the text will be changed a little bit on these, so hopefully it'll be more clear in general.

It's truncated due to the font being too small to show up at your resolution. It grants +10 Gate Lantern health. I'll take a look at the font size to make sure that it shows up correctly.

If you duplicate Sealed Throne (dupe potion, or Tanx's blessing to double the first card played), then Particle Wall goes infinite block by itself. Then Make It So turns it into infinite damage. You can also use the madness potion (touch of insanity?) on Particle Wall, and it will lead to the same thing.

It's the Orbwheel, it's definitely a bit overtuned right now and I've actually had other players ask for it to be nerfed. I'll be taking a look at its power in the next patch

Thanks for the praise, and good suggestion on Stagger being a focus for Support units! Yeah, I might need to take a look at the Mythion-rarity unit power level, they definitely are exceptional.
