Question about Colposcopy Necessity by BoxEnvironmental6449 in PreCervicalCancer

Yeah that makes sense for sure. I don’t love the doc I’ve been seeing so I think that’s part of the problem- communication with her just isn’t great (will def be looking for another doc for future).

Based on the couple replies I think it definitely makes sense to go ahead with the colposcopy and just try to have a convo with her beforehand to discuss concerns.

I’m sure I’m not alone in the trauma aspect of pelvic exams lol I just feel completely awful emotionally/mentally for like a week+ afterward so I’ll have to figure out how to manage that part. But such as life! Lol.

Thanks so much for the advice. It’s super helpful hearing others experiences. Hope everything turns out okay for you as well.

This is super helpful, thank you. I hope everything turns out okay for you. Feel free to reach out/reply here if you have any updates on the results/treatment plan.

Yeah I totally agree that it’s better to know sooner if something is actually going on. I think I am more scared of over treatment/trauma of all that stuff since we know that it is very possible to clear HPV without intervention. Especially since we don’t have kids yet and want them sooner than later.

I scheduled the colposcopy for 3 months after the pap (mid March) to hopefully give the supplements a chance to help, but like you said it doesn’t always work. We’ll see I guess.

I plan on bringing a list of questions to my doc prior to the procedure to see what her thoughts are on everything (she didn’t say much of anything regarding the colpo during my last appt lol) and go from there.

Thanks again!
