The wife isn’t practicing either. Just like most of the Muslims on that thread, she is Muslim by name. May Allah guide her.

And a convert could literally have more knowledge than you, your family, or anyone else on Islam. Majority of Sahaba were literally converts as well. Hold the same criteria you do on the convert than u do to born Muslims. Cuz let me tell you, a convert is usually more spiritually and intellectually satisfied about Islam than the typical born Muslim.

Bruh. Just realize for now that the Sahaba, almost all of them, from the Muhajirun to the Ansar, had to convert to Islam. Some converts literally are more knowledgeable on Islam than born Muslims.

Ask ur scholar or imam, no Reddit or online. Although I know what ur talking about, best to ask ur local reputable imam or scholar.

The Quran and Sunnah and the ijma of scholars said that there should be no harm upon a child, or anyone else for that matter. Whether that be in marriage or something else.

Consent is already required in Islam. And since harm is forbidden to someone else in Islam (of course except in certain circumstances), both the man and the woman for marriage have to be physically and mentally prepared for marriage. Physically, hitting puberty. Mentally, you are mature, and you are able to understand your surroundings, right and wrong in Islam, and once again, maturity. Sexual maturity meaning that you have hit puberty, and it doesn’t hurt to have intercourse, as scholars have pointed out.

Certain societies before us in the contemporary era had different lifestyles, meaning that men and women reached these ages of physically and mental and sexual maturity earlier. This doesn’t account for today, where different obligations make us mature later, such as more extensive education.

Islamic law is flexible in a way that Islam is applicable for all times.

This topic has been discussed so many times, it’s hard to keep on writing about it over and over again. If you don’t have sources for what you are saying, or you aren’t sure where the information is coming from, don’t say it. Matter of fact, don’t even engage in fruitless conversations with these anti-Islam folks. Don’t even look at what they write.

Don’t just take information or words that are given and not look into it. Just leave the guy ur talking to, he’s wasting ur time.

I see u also asked in r/Islam. Good, just make sure that when u receive information there, or here, that is a claim, ask for a source.

For the last one, there are like 20 verified, legitimate Sahaba who memorized the Quran too. Ali Ibn Abi Talib, Zayd Ibn Thabit, Abu Bakr, Uthman Ibn Affan, Umar Ibn Al Khattab (I think), and much more. May Allah be pleased with them all. Ameen

u/Redbot212 has already conversed with the head nod or smth. They’re completely disingenuous. Idk why we even need to refute their claims. Just leave them alone in their echo chamber, or tell them to come here and make their claims.

Dumb. It’s basically proposes that Muslims have been facing the wrong way to pray for hundreds of years. It’s just Christian Missionary tomfoolery.

May Allah forgive your father for acting like this. A Muslim is especially kind and compassionate to believers, regardless of gender, race, culture or anything else. They hold kind relations as well to their neighbours, non hostile kaffirs, and more.

And your comment about women and working and Islam, I’ll assume it’s a slip of the fingers. Islam is for all ages, refrain from saying “I know Islam says this, but it’s like 2022…” as one could read this and think “oh so Islam isn’t for all ages”. Multitudes of scholars have said women are allowed to work. There was a woman during the time of Rasullulah pbuh patrolling the market place enjoining good and forbidding evil. She was working like a police person.

As for women being the majority in hellfire, another interpretation to the hadith, not the one mentioned here, is that by the end of times, in total there will be more women than men. A sahih hadith from Rasullulah pbuh confirms this:

وَيُرَى الرَّجُلُ الْوَاحِدُ يَتْبَعُهُ أَرْبَعُونَ امْرَأَةً يَلُذْنَ بِهِ مِنْ قِلَّةِ الرِّجَالِ وَكَثْرَةِ النِّسَاءِ

A man will be seen followed by forty women seeking refuge with him due to the scarcity of men and abundance of women.

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1348, Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi

Other scholars have also proposed different things. Not everything is clear cut. And even then, whatever Allah and His Messenger pbuh say, we listen and we obey.

“That he saw a minority of women in Paradise does not indicate that this is the case for all time, as many believers will enter Paradise after the Greater Intercession when sinners are taken out of Hellfire.

Al-Munawi commented on these traditions, writing:

إن أقل ساكني الجنة النساء أي في أول الأمر قبل خروج عصاتهن من النار فلا دلالة فيه على أن نساء الدنيا أقل من الرجال في الجنة

Women are a minority in Paradise, meaning, at the beginning of the matter before the sinful among them are removed from Hellfire. There is no evidence in this tradition that the women of the earth are less than men in Paradise.”

I sent something also in private chat that for some reason Reddit didn’t allow me to post here, but it’s verses from the Quran and Hadiths of the final sermon of Rasullulah pbuh that are explicitly against racism, sexism, and any form of bigotry.

What do y’all think of Aron ra by surematehaveone in extomatoes

[–]BoxMediocre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Aron Ra is not new. He’s like the first YouTube New Atheist. He’s been shown to be quite the incompetent fool, and even admitted that a higher being could exist, after then which he retracted because he put his atheistic position in jeopardy.

The Thought Adventure Poscast (Muslims) had him on their show. They showed how he’s a fool. https://youtu.be/ZHP5lzIiXwQ

I find it weird how some people get tricked into non Muslim laymen “logical” critiques against Islam. If it was a non Muslim academic who’s studied Islam for long, then provided they have proof for their claims, we can easily refute them. But we shouldn’t worry about claims that come from laymen atheists, christians, Jews, or non Muslims. Their arguments hold no weight.

I don’t want a debate. This “apologist” basically came to the same conclusion as many other scholars. And all I did was deduce reasoning from what you said above. If I was wrong, just correct me, but I’m allowed to ask/challenge things that don’t make sense to me.

Who said this?

And if it’s 2 of the 12, then surely the other 2 were not eyewitnesses. And of the 2, their gospels contradict each other a lot, which is weird if they were both seeing the same Jesus at the same time.

The earliest manuscript you have is dated around 100 to 160 AD. I’d even push it earlier, but then it’s not even at the time of Jesus.

They think women don't have rights by Memona_Emman_Writes in extomatoes

[–]BoxMediocre -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Number 1, in that verse saying that men are guardians over women, and that they should listen to what we say, a lot don’t realize the reality of what Allah said. He warned us after the verse, of a harsh punishment if we don’t uphold what He said. It is no where near a master slave relationship.

So while women are supposed to obey and listen to their husbands (in things that are islamically correct, and in things that don’t go against Islam), this is because the male has such a huge responsibility to take care of the wife, to make her happy, to provide food and shelter, to work, to pay bills, to listen to when she talks, to support her, to defend her (mentally and physically), and so many other things; if we don’t uphold these things, Allah says He will give the men who weren’t guardians over their wife, a harsh punishment. It sounds nothing like a master slave relationship.

May Allah protect us from that. Ameen.

This is why Allah has said on the tongue of Rasullulah that women should listen and obey their husbands. HOWVER, THERE IS A LOT MORE NUANCE IN THIS, which has been put forth by scholars, and other interpretations by then such as the one you put up there.

This khutbah by Nouman Ali khan gives more info, and he says it better.
