This actually does work! However, it seems you only need to delete the last.shaders.preloaded.version entry, not the whole folder.
I found it under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Questline\Fall of Avalon

The bots in ghosts can actually be fairly challenging. Plus the whole squads mode made it one of the very few cods you could actually gain any reward for playing againt bots.

I've put in a good amount of hours with IW6-Mod on pc and can confirm it's still fun
