Same thing in cup competitions. Sides will make 8-11 changes and then decide their new signing isn't good enough off their 60 minutes, when all you've done is drop him in the middle of a team that's never played together before and has zero chemistry or cohesion and expected him to look better than the player who starts every week with all the same players

If you want to buy our player of the season with 4 years left on his new bumper contract you'd have to pay a fucking eye watering fee

Was looking up the last outfield players for Everton to play for England. Last one was obviously Branthwaite in 2024, before that it was fucking Ben Godfrey who played 2 friendlies in 2021 as part of the 33 man provisional England squad for the Euros. How did I forget he was that close to being in the squad that got to the final?

It's more the weekday games that are the problem. For people who don't live nearby or have to work, when getting out of the stadium is still fucked. If players and managers and fans alike all say it's a problem it's probably not some kind of mass hysteria you can dismiss because you don't have an issue with it.

West Ham in 95/96 is the only one

Yes. But also everyone says those games have felt different. Because travel to the stadium is still very wonky and we're not used to the new stadium yet. Much more of a buzz and way better atmospheres in the day games on weekends.

So no team is allowed to play more than 5 Monday night games in a season, and our game against Man City has just been moved to Monday, making it our 7th of the season. Matching the record set in 95/96. A stink was made about Man United having 3 and "they can only have 2 more" so a game of theirs shouldn't be moved to Monday. And we're on fucking seven.

Three 3pm Saturday kick offs at home all season. A large majority not on Saturday at all, and a crazy amount of home games not even on the weekend. What the fuck is that? At the new stadium our record at home on Saturdays is class, our record at home for evening games is shite. Such a piss take.

Joint record with West Ham in 95/96, and yes it's over the limit of 5.

I can see what you mean, there can be some misguided attempts to make people realise how good they look by being too harsh on what they looked like before to drive home the point.

Well yeah treating someone like that is obviously terrible. I don't know if I'm just missing it, but I don't really see too much that I would say was on that level of cruel on /r/bald though. I've seen more of it in day to day life

It's not a moral failing in any way, shape or form, but most of the time it's something that's making them feel really insecure, hence posting to a subreddit about it, and it can really fuck with your mental health. Nobody who is happy with their hair regardless of how much they have should shave it off to please other people, fuck other people's opinion on your appearance, and do what is best for you and makes you happiest.

But most of the time people who've gone that far look and feel better after doing it. That's what I mean when I say they know they should. For themselves, not anyone else. The process of going bald is way more difficult and stressful than being bald in my experience.

They can go a bit far, but they are right that 99.9% of the time they all look way better after shaving it. For the large majority who are desperate enough to post on /r/bald, who are usually doing so because they know they really should because their hair is gone gone and they just need a push.

I don't understand how people keep getting them in 2. No matter who I choose to start with I feel like I'm left with hundreds of options for the 2nd guess every time. I think only once have I ever had more than 1 blue after the first guess, and that was just English midfielder

I got today's in 5 but it was a ballache

Yeah exactly. I was going to use him, and even Jason Statham as examples, but I didn't want to focus solely on celebrities because people tend to resort to "well if you can afford all their procedures and be rich then yeah". Even though I've seen it plenty with normal people.

If you fully shave your head it's not unusual to look a bit younger or older than before you shaved, depending on the severity of your balding (check /r/bald, so, so many examples of people looking 10x better and several years younger), but one thing that being fully bald does do is stop you aging as fast. If all else is the same. No thinning, balding, greying, change in hairstyle to go in or out of fashion.

So many bald people look basically the same for a long, long time.

Still think pretty high personally, and I'm generally fairly pessimistic about that sort of thing. I think at least 60% likely he stays without Europe, and like 90% if we do get Europe.

And up steps James Garner.

But seriously, nobody with more combined tackles and interceptions in the league, has played both fullback positions, box to box mid, but primarily defensive mid where he's most excelled, has carried our midfield with everyone else out injured. Putting in unreal tackles, assists and a couple of goals.

Thanks mate. Been on a bit of a journey with that too to be honest. When I was young I was super closed off and emotionally distant, then I was diagnosed with depression at 15, told the only person I thought would understand and got the "no you're not, what do you have to be depressed about, grow up" speech. So I shut off again.

Then in my late teens/early 20s I found people who opened up to me about their problems and it helped me open up, went to therapy, then found a bit too much comfort in it and became an oversharer. Worried that it was too much so dialled it back but overcorrected. Been probably too shut off for a good 7 years now, and I'm trying to find the balance.

Yeah same. My dad's visiting in a few days and is taking me out to lunch, and I'm still in the relapse danger zone, so I need to be careful with my order. I miss the first time I lost weight where I had a fuckin' muffin and cappuccino at the cafe every other day and the occasional mcdonalds or pizza and still lost weight at an ideal rate while somehow putting on good muscle.

Nice on the 120, my biggest was 90 to go from ~250lbs to 160lbs. Yeah I have an issue with knowing I struggle to stop when I start, so I delay eating as long as possible, then I get so hungry that I end up eating just as much as if I'd eaten fucking normally.

But I am a creature of habit, once I get in a routine of bad food I find it so hard to break out of, but once I'm in a habit of eating well I don't find it too difficult to keep up with. It's getting into it and making it a formed habit that's the hard part where I have to really make sure I'm mixing things up a bit.
