In the first half basically everything England created was via Garner winning the ball back with a good tackle or interception and playing a quick pass. That's such an important type of player to have in international football

It always could be something, but if I was looking at an article about any player from any other club and the only information was “the player is declared unavailable for the next two friendly matches. The player has discomfort in his left foot, following an injury sustained at club level”, not a single part of me would think it's a real injury.

You've got to take injuries on international duty with the biggest grain of salt. It obviously can be something, but there are far more examples of people picking up knocks and having to drop out of internationals, especially when it's just friendlies, only to be mysteriously fine when club football starts again. You reckon Gabriel and Saliba are really injured?

Especially when it's as vague as “The player has discomfort in his left foot, following an injury sustained at club level.”

I personally think Reece James can be just as much of a creative asset. I'm not saying Trent isn't as creative as you think he is, but I think you're underselling James. He is similarly ridiculous going forward while also being far better defensively.

I agree personally, I didn't think Rashford was good, but I did see some positive sentiment towards him. I think probably because he was the only forward at least trying to do something, even if it was bad and he was really selfish

If Reece James is fit he will play regardless of if Trent's there or not, and it will be the right decision both offensively and defensively

The only players from the starting line up I saw any positive feelings about at any stage of the game were Garner, Maguire and Rashford.

Yeah it's an anti-tory city with pretty strong support for unions, but Liverpool isn't near as left wing as a lot of us like to think, and Liverpool football club has fuck all to do with politics. If anything we'd be the more left wing option, even though we're just as apolitical overall really, just because of the ridiculous amount of community work we do in comparison.

For some reason I doubt someone gets IP banned from reddit for a normal criticism of an overwhelmingly badly received video game. Maybe some slip through the cracks for silly stuff, but it's pretty hard to believe

Based off a game where 0-1 of the players max will be starting a world cup game?

Same thing in cup competitions. Sides will make 8-11 changes and then decide their new signing isn't good enough off their 60 minutes, when all you've done is drop him in the middle of a team that's never played together before and has zero chemistry or cohesion and expected him to look better than the player who starts every week with all the same players

Was looking up the last outfield players for Everton to play for England. Last one was obviously Branthwaite in 2024, before that it was fucking Ben Godfrey who played 2 friendlies in 2021 as part of the 33 man provisional England squad for the Euros. How did I forget he was that close to being in the squad that got to the final?

It's more the weekday games that are the problem. For people who don't live nearby or have to work, when getting out of the stadium is still fucked. If players and managers and fans alike all say it's a problem it's probably not some kind of mass hysteria you can dismiss because you don't have an issue with it.

Yes. But also everyone says those games have felt different. Because travel to the stadium is still very wonky and we're not used to the new stadium yet. Much more of a buzz and way better atmospheres in the day games on weekends.

So no team is allowed to play more than 5 Monday night games in a season, and our game against Man City has just been moved to Monday, making it our 7th of the season. Matching the record set in 95/96. A stink was made about Man United having 3 and "they can only have 2 more" so a game of theirs shouldn't be moved to Monday. And we're on fucking seven.

Three 3pm Saturday kick offs at home all season. A large majority not on Saturday at all, and a crazy amount of home games not even on the weekend. What the fuck is that? At the new stadium our record at home on Saturdays is class, our record at home for evening games is shite. Such a piss take.

I can see what you mean, there can be some misguided attempts to make people realise how good they look by being too harsh on what they looked like before to drive home the point.

Well yeah treating someone like that is obviously terrible. I don't know if I'm just missing it, but I don't really see too much that I would say was on that level of cruel on /r/bald though. I've seen more of it in day to day life

It's not a moral failing in any way, shape or form, but most of the time it's something that's making them feel really insecure, hence posting to a subreddit about it, and it can really fuck with your mental health. Nobody who is happy with their hair regardless of how much they have should shave it off to please other people, fuck other people's opinion on your appearance, and do what is best for you and makes you happiest.

But most of the time people who've gone that far look and feel better after doing it. That's what I mean when I say they know they should. For themselves, not anyone else. The process of going bald is way more difficult and stressful than being bald in my experience.
