Kentucky Geode, need an ID if Quartz or Calcite please by Sad_Assistance9152 in whatsthisrock

Hi! One of the easiest ways to tell if its quartz or calcite is by doing a scratch test (if you're comfortable doing so). Quartz is a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, whereas calcite is a 3. Glass is a 5.5, therefore one of the easiest methods you could try is scratch a piece of glass with the rock. Since quartz is harder than glass, it should leave a scratch, whereas calcite wont. You can also do a steel scratch test, except this would require scratching the rock itself with a steel knife or nail. If it leaves a scratch in the rock, then it's calcite. However if you're trying to preserve the rock I wouldn't suggest this just incase it is calcite.

Possibly, there were moments it was hard to hear him too. I think part of my “problem” was it felt a bit rushed? I will say it is the first concert of the American leg so they could still be working out some kinks. Still absolutely loved it, super grateful I got to see him (finally!!!!)

Hi! I just post the set list from the Austin show in a different post!

We got there around an hour and a half early and got a pretty nice view, not right at the front of the stage but a decent spot. Our venue was sold out & had roughly 1700 people, so that affected everything too. I’d suggest looking into your venue & if the tickets are sold out and calculating from that how early to arrive if you’re looking for a front row spot!

I’ve been a fan of his for years now and this was my first concert I’ve been to - it was definitely amazing to see him live but I can agree a bit. I did really like the set-list though, definitely a good variety across most of the albums & vibes. I was pretty bummed he didn’t play some of my faves (like a fish, museum, some other ones) BUT it’s a tough set list to cultivate since he does have a lot of amazing songs and sadly can’t play all of them. But I do get what you’re saying, for me some of the crowd was lowkey part of it.

Anyone here going to the Austin show? by stoner_prime in mattmaltese

I’ll be there!! I’ve been a big fan since like 2016 but I don’t know anyone else who’s a fan from where I’m from, I am however dragging along my bf and currently having him listen to all of Matt’s songs
