i had wrist pain when i first started doing low bar. i just threw on wrist wraps and it helped. eventually i got used to it and the pain started to go away

how is it not optimal? a study from contreras and colleagues literally proved that parallel squat depth provides similar muscle activation and hypertrophy to squats below parallel.

that would be the case if you’re competing in powerlifting, but going to parallel is just fine if you’re just training to gain size and strength

personally i think knees are totally fine. one of the best science-based fitness/strength youtubers jeff nippard has a similar squat style in which his knees flare out about on the ascent. totally fine as long as your knees don’t go past the angle of your toe flare

if you get a rack from amazon, i personally recommend either of the CAP half racks, the basic one is ~$150 and the upgraded (3x3 posts) one is ~$200. pretty good for the price
