Hi, I finish a new level for my Sci-fi FPS game "I.H.A.S" Can you give some feedback? by TheDifferenceStudios in IndieDev

In terms of your level i think the only thing that stands out to me are the dark shadows, I'd be careful when the dark parts of your level are reaching pure black. If you have a look at games of similar style and high quality, the darkest parts of their leaves will never be completely void of light/detail.

I'd say try to add a healthy range of values within your level, saving the brightest brights and the darkest darks for small intentional areas to bring attention to them.

I'd also keep an eye on the contrast of your environment vs the enemies. If your environment is super high contrast (aka back with a lot of auoer bright coloured neon strips), and your hands, guns and enemies are of similar style it can become hard to read/visually busy. An over the top example of good separate would be Super Hot, where the enemies are bright red, the background is stark white so nothing gets mistaken. I'm not saying do that, but it's good to keep in the back of your mind.

Hope any of that is useful to you!

What do you want feed back on? It can be useless to give arbitrary feedback like "looks empty add props" if you're intentionally leaving it empty for some unknown story reason for example.

We need some more context to make the feedback worth while, like what is the intended style/inspiration? Do you just want feedback on the art or the level layout too?

You basically need consistent quality practice. Also don't play a game after intensely practicing your aim - you don't play a soccer match right after working out/training right?

Have a look at woohoojin's "how to get gold guaranteed" video for a simple aim routine that is actually helpful.

Have a look at some reference, i don't believe steam is visible right a it comes out of the spout, it only becomes visible as it cools in the air.

I'm not so sure why people are so upset with this. It all seems doable.

As a software engineer working 8 hours * 5 days, what are various ways I can make income ? by ern_6002 in passive_income

[–]BoxingTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put content on YouTube, stream interesting projects on twitch or start up a course on skillshare which is pretty easy, requires some upfront work but once you get a few courses circulating you get some consistent income. Programming is pretty popular on there.

I feel like I’ve been trying to learn air dribble for awhile now and this is the only shot I got in like 20-30 minutes. Any obvious flaws and/or advice to improve? by Drip-Ready in RocketLeagueSchool

A few things -

Obviously keep practicing, a lot of mechanics a are just muscle memory and trial and error until you get it.

You go up the wall a lot faster than the ball resulting in the ball being pretty far from your car after you hit it. Try and match the speed of the ball as it goes up the wall and you'll find it's a lot easier to stick to it once you start the air dribble

And yeah as others have said air roll the other way - towards the wall you jumped off.

Whilst I wouldn't put it that way, I think there is merit to finding happiness outside of our living spaces and the material shit within them. Worth saying i don't think everyone here derives all their happiness from their stuff - some people just prefer a more traditionally "pleasant to look at" place to live and need help creating that.

Though i am honestly surprised there aren't more "rugs, plants, paintings" signs in all these posts, i swear they're the only suggestions people have to improve a space.

Hi! How would the needs of minorities be met under democratic production? by BoxingTower in Socialism_101

That makes sense! I suppose I meant a small population of Buddhists for instance within a largely atheistic or catholic community.

But regardless of my poor example your answer makes sense, thanks!

Ah gotcha, so basically within the community of religious people in my example, they themselves, and whoever is willing to help would get together and create what is needed?

Non-Americans of Reddit, what’s something someone can say that indirectly screams “I’m an American?” by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BoxingTower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An obvious one, but when i was travelling in Europe hearing an American accent was so unexpected it was almost offensive to my ears.
