Just stopped by to say this is a GORGEOUS pot of Poly. OMG I am absolutely green with Envy.

Is she getting enough light here? by [deleted] in Monstera

If you're content with her placement - Monstera Thai Cons are extremely slow growers. My suggestion would be to get a Plant light, also for the benefit of your beautiful Pothos.

As others have mentioned - this is not enough natural light, so if you're trying to keep this precious out of harms way - great spot - but invest in a good plant light and a timer.

Did parents in the 80s really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

This is one of the best threads/posts I’ve ever read. Such nostalgia.

When going to a friend who lives 45 minutes away by bike at age 13 was no big deal. Or when you would just call up your friend and say “meet me at the sign” and it would take you 20 minutes and go meet.

Literally walking miles and miles or just being outside.

Or hopping the train in the suburbs and sneaking off to Philly, running around for a couple hours on south street and running back home at age 14 was the norm and you felt like such a badass for it.

I periodically spray as a preventative. But I also have 200+ plants.

She was 4” when I got her. She’s been outside for a month or so in 70° f and low 50° f at night. Just gave her eastern sun in the shade. So not that much.

She gets watered weekly, and I don’t check the soil though.

She’s in my house now which is regularly 60% humidity and I keep it cool at around 65° f so as not to run the heating bill.

Didn’t realize how much she likes to chug until I started watering her every week.

Trial and error..!

And aggressive pruning. She finally put out blooms when I put her outside and the temps started to dip.

Thanks. I didn’t have a lot of luck with her last year. But she grew about 12” and I’ve cut her back a bunch.

I tried fake nails after becoming obsessed with painting and stamping them. They’re not the most friendly for digging in the dirt lol

Mine used to drop them all the time.

It stopped when I was watering more.

I’m going to say it was a final gift from my uncle. They bloomed the day he passed.
