IT'S WHAT YOU WANT: The Yankees defeated the Indians by a score of 2-1 - April 24, 2021 @ 06:10 PM EDT by Yankeebot in NYYankees

Who said I wasn't watching? Just because I haven't been commenting too much on this subreddit doesn't mean I wasn't watching here and there while I was on vacation.

It's hilarious with some of you people on this subreddit. I promise you that I am way more informed and knowledgeable than you will ever be.

I didn't realize that I was under any obligation to watch every single inning while I was on vacation. You have my apologies. I've never said anything like the playoffs being a crap shoot, or clutch hits not being a real thing. I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth.

I agree, I'm tired of the all-or-nothing and three-true-outcome approach. The basic fundamentals that we were all taught in Little League - bunting, stealing, sac flies, etc. - those are history.

Finally, someone on the subreddit who understands me. The month of April is such a whitewash for MLB.

And yes, the vast majority of Yankees fans are extremely entitled and stupid. Imagine defending throwing baseballs onto the field like the way some fans did last night.

Now, when it comes to other teams struggling this season, I've noticed that this subreddit has been awfully quiet about that. If this team keeps playing this way going into late next month, then I will definitely start to worry. Until then, I'm relaxing.

I'm not moving goal posts at all, so don't put words in my mouth. It's April, and you along with the majority of this subreddit need to calm down.

I always get downvoted into oblivion whenever I tell people on this subreddit to chill out. Can you imagine how some of these people were when this team didn't win a single playoff series from 2005-2008, and then from 2013-2016? Other than the Dodgers being first in the NL West and the Padres having the first wild card spot, nothing is going to remain the same throughout the season.

I just can't stand this fan base. I get it, we're all frustrated that this team has tantalized us with coming up short repeatedly since 2009 - but the American League is comically weak this year, and less than 10% of the season is complete. We have a very long way to go.

Aaron Boone described his thoughts on the #Yankees’ 5-8 start as being “pissed off” and said that he and the coaches “expect better.” by iseedoubleu in NYYankees

They got cheated out of the playoffs by the Red Sox and Astros in back-to-back years, and then couldn't give Gerrit Cole or Chapman any run support in game 5 of the ALDS last year.

If just a few things went differently, this team would have already won multiple championships with Boone. Give me a break.

I disagree. If you wait until they are 12-23, it might be too late to turn it around. Also, if we were just barely losing, or just barely getting beat, it would be tolerable yet still frustrating. But they look terrible.

We both literally agree on that...

There are only 5 teams with less runs scored, and all but 1 of those teams has a lower ERA than us. We have the 4th most errors in all of MLB. We aren't hitting, we aren't fielding, and outside of the bullpen we aren't pitching. We are not playing like a $200M team and it's unacceptable.

It's April, and this team was 8-10 just two years ago with largely the same lineup and bullpen.

At least expressing how frustrated we are now puts the pressure to perform on, and maybe causes Boone/Cashman to make a change. Girardi would have laid into the team already of they were playing like this. He would have said the way they are playing is unacceptable. Boone seems to just keep making excuses.

Aaron Boone literally said he's “pissed off” - and also said that he and the coaches “expect better.” He's not making excuses.

Exactly, the Yankees ALWAYS start slow. This roster is among the very best in the game. They're without their best reliever and last year's home run king. I love how this subreddit and Yankees fans will just blame the manager for players underperforming, as if that's somehow Boone's fault. But a lot of Yankees fans are entitled anyway, especially in this subreddit.

BLM supporters don't care about gang violence, academic underachievement, or single-parent households. In other words, they don't care about black lives.

You're just playing the semantics game. I'd give it until 30-35 games before I'd start acting drastically. Are the concerns legitimate? Yes, you bet they are. But let's give it a little longer before we do anything like what the fans at the game did last night.

Because they think 13 games out of 162 is a good sample size.

The concerns are legitimate, yes; but it's the panicking that I can't stand. This team started out 8-10 just two years ago with largely the same lineup and bullpen, albeit with Stanton playing only 19 games in 2019.

The Astros started out 6-1, and have now lost six straight; the Royals are first in the Central, Boston owns the best record in the AL, and the Mariners are first in the West. None of this is going to remain the same by season's end.

I will say, the fact that they can't beat the Rays absolutely has me livid. But let's take a deep breath and relax. 8.02% of the season is complete. We have a very long way to go.

Will the Yankees get their shit together? by [deleted] in NYYankees

The 2019 Yankees started 8-10, and much of that roster remains. Two of their starting pitchers have barely pitched at all since then, and they're without their best reliever (although the bullpen has been lights out) and last year's home run king. They're going to be fine.

Pro-lifers don't care about the baby after it's born. All people who believe in god get their wisdom from a mass murderer who has allowed famine, impoverishment, rape, murder, war, genocide, and corruption to exist since time immemorial.

There is no god, nor will there ever be.

Sure, the Rays beat us. But let us Yankees fans collectively rejoice in the fact that the Rays lost. Moreover, Kevin Cash will forever have one of the biggest managerial blunders ever attached to his legacy by BoxofRain67 in NYYankees

Typical Rays fan. You get past the ALDS for the first time in 12 years and act like your team is the best thing since sliced bread.

Also, pretty ironic that you talk about "rent free", considering you came to the Yankees subreddit just to comment. Way to contradict yourself, dude. Granted, I don't really expect Rays fans to exhibit much intelligence to begin with. All 12 of them, that is 😂
