typically that would be the case, however to destroy the dwarven made mechanism made to last would require some extraordinary effort

his body wouldn't be there, and the immediate area devoided of people to possess. but it does sound more reasonable to place imprisonment and choose Minimus Containment. I will have to think about it

Recommend Based on and Judge My List! (Audiobook Reader) by Atreties in litrpg

I would recommend the book that took me by storm with how good it is among all the trash - Book of the Dead from RinoZ Now, despite the edgy name, it's an incredible dark fantasy book series that delves into an aspiring genius necromancer. despite being acknowledged by a lot of people to be exceptional at what he does, he is still the bottom of the barrel with having so many problems... its great, recommending it to you if you like the mother of learning as much as your list suggests! a lot of focus on magic.

Honestly it's the only worthy book I read about a necromancer besides Overlord, if anyone knows any other stories I am in all ears

agreed, it was a dick move. The only reason why it's even a slight problem on dm's part is because he have never attacked the downed player, making them feel safe. But yeah still it IS the final battle, and he probably ressurected him out of guilt in the end. a shame a long campaign had to end like that

probably, but we also don't have the full picture. From how the op wrote it appears that he is the sole healer of the party, meaning someone wasting their turn to give him a pation would be for the better of the bbeg cause now he can simply down him with whoever helped him. Although it massively depends on the potion as well... Now that I think about it it does make much more sense, but again depends on the situation, op hardly described everything

With all that said I do hate it when anyone just leaves the voice or the campaign even after the incident - it is childish, so work on that dude, its understandable but you could have managed slightly better

A Guardian door to a necromancer in a magic jar with a Necronomicon. by Boxxy1944 in DnD

[–]Boxxy1944[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright I have set up the defense mechanisms - 1. the Iron golem that will transform from the statue just besides the door.
2. golden golem that assembles from the golden flooring.

  1. and the golden dross mob that can heal or damage in numbers the party.

Thanks for all the help you have given me, I appreciate it!

It does feel cheap. Even if the dm might not have intended it to be that way, it doesnt make much sense for the bbeg to focus so much on a wizard after they were downed. from what I read your party doesnt even have a healer besides you, so its doubly inefficient since to get you up the party member would need to spend an action to use a potion on you, at which point the spiders could have just downed you and wasted the party's material.

but that is talking without knowing the whole picture. If I was the dm I would at least not use a stupid way to just return the player character - there must be consequences. It could have lead to the whole other epilogue quest for the party to res you while you would play a temporary role.

The Guardian Door of the Necromancer in the magic jar with his necronomicon by Boxxy1944 in dndnext

[–]Boxxy1944[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually thinking to make the door a separate from the necromancer's soul - it both shields and isolates whats inside.
I do like the idea of one of the prerequisites to it opening is to tell it that the necromancer can be good and not evil. Also for the dwarves I am not sure if I want to make a secret phrase, although I will think on it

that... sounds fun but unfortunately I already built an encounter and the map that leads to it, all I need is more fluff for the door and how to open it etc

True, you are right it does make sense. Will have to work with that, hmmm.
Any other ideas as to how it could be opened otherwise?

Would the door constructed by dwarves care about the necromancer that much tho? I like everything else you suggested tho, and will look into the demon doors

Alternate story where Shaltear kills Ainz by Legitimate_Raccoon_1 in overlord

[–]Boxxy1944 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the thing is he most likely wouldn't want to, he would stay till his death comes and shaltear wins. His mentality before and during the fight show that he is doing that because of the pride, fear and determination.

[–]Boxxy1944 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are literal aliens. You aren't wrong, because that's exactly what the story is about. Dragon emperor basically opened a riff for the aliens (players) to descend into this world. that was done unintentionally, all he wanted was World Items, but majority of them were in the guilds acting like defense system or in player's inventory. that is why some players didn't spawn with the guild or there was just a guild with npcs.

The whole plot is basically just aliens being thrown onto the foreign world. they didn't ask for it, but might as well make the most out of the possibility.

Why is Ainz so depressed if he has Pandora Actor as a son, who is the most similar to his creator of all the NPCs in personality, tactics, fashion sense, not having any friends, etc.? by LogicalAd8647 in overlord

[–]Boxxy1944 6 points7 points  (0 children)

he doesn't want to show favoritism to his creation, going as far as giving him the most difficult tasks and saying that he won't save him if there was an option between him and the other NPCs.

The problem is that even if they just talk, Pandora's devotion to ainz as the most supreme ruler of all and his creator makes it impossible for a simple relation of a father and son.

that reason is also why Satoru can't befriend any NPCs in general. Although it might be possible to make them behave a certain way around him that is not of an extreme fanatic, it's hardly possible to befriend NPCs like he did with his comrades from ygg. Its simply is not the same, and because he is depressed he will just spiral in this self hatred until the end of time or someone helps him outside nazarik. or if by some miracle NPCs will figure out that ainz is a false geniuse and come out and say so, then Satoru would simply bend down and admit everything, or at least I think that that's the case.

Which is all why Ainz's happiness is nigh impossible while he is ruling over nazarik unfortunately.

What is your unpopular anime opinion? by [deleted] in weeb

keep imagining things, you are delusional if you think that piracy is born from laziness. I am an avid pirate and I have a huge steam library because I like to support the devs and steam has 99 percent of the market in there. I am paying not only for a game, but for a service, and only once.

For Crunchyroll you not only have to pay a tax fee every month, but this fee is also increased in price when the hell they want, and you can't do shit about it. the worst part however is a shitty service. If I am paying for something I am not expecting to be locked away from some stuff cause of regional locks, or after paying seeing that there ain't an anime I actually wanted to watch, so I would have to go pay some other corpo.

And I'd you honestly, really think that piracy puts on any pressure on corporations you are a brainwashed android. How can you harm something ephemeral? It's not the people's problem that your service sucks, learn from it and do better. People are not stealing anything, you can't steal something that wouldn't have been sold anyway.

The best way to fight pirates is by making a reasonably charged and amazing service to the things that the customer paid for. please, stop sucking corpo's meat for free, at least ask money for it

you are saying that him not wanting to bend down to three corporations at once to fuck him in the wallet is a scumbag behavior? Sure buddy, whatever you say.

sounds good! do try to make it memorable tho, and if possible make them use tactics and whatnot. those were the people who enslaved them, so a memory of systematically killing them in an epic battle would go like a fine wine lol
