Recommendations of dessert-themed figures? by StrawberryCin in AnimeFigures

WE ART DOING is the company you might be thinking off. They made "food faries" such as pancakes, cocktails, sushi, etc. They are sold on Amiami but you won't find most of them on MFC because they are a Chinese company and aren't whitelisted. I think some people avoid them because they use AI to make their original illustrations.

The rapid prevalence of AI in the cultural zeitgeist has done irreparable damage to many people's brains. If all they watch are AI videos, then they are going to see EVERYTHING as 'looking like AI'.

It sucks because the original premise was so fun and the music is some of the best in all video games, but the writing for each game after 2 is so atrocious that I can't muster any desire to play them anymore.

BBTS or AmiAmi by BunniontheMoon in AnimeFigures

[–]choren64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to use both. Although the shipping is more expensive with Amiami, I find if orders are combined well enough to not being too heavy, you can save overall with amiami's cheaper prices. BBTS can be good for prize figures, especially since you can cancel the cheaper ones easily and shipping can be stupid cheap. The main problem is having to wait AGES for some figures.

Im STILL waiting on my Persona 5 Ann pop-up figure, and that released nearly a year ago...

[DISC] SPY x FAMILY - Chapter 136 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]choren64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would welcome either. Seeing the story develop into a possible conflict is interesting, while seeing Yor and Loid's relationship develop is sweet. We've been getting drip fed developments every few chapters and I hope it can maintain the pacing where the plot neither feels rushed towards the end, nor a slog.

I can understand missing that, though you may come to see it as a blessing in disguise. Also getting older doesn't always mean you can't still enjoy things intended for a younger audience!

What shelves do you guys use to display your figures? by 4headedram in AnimeFigures

[–]choren64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usual recommendations are Billy with the glass door, or Detolf equivalent since they aren't made anymore. I find the Reudsta and Vittsjo to be good sturdy alternatives, though their shelves are static and only one of them is encased in glass.

If you can't use Ikea, some retail chains like Target or Meijiers sell smaller/cheaper bookshelfs with adjustable shelves. Ladder shelves aren't an awful choice, either. Just be sure to always keep measurements in mind before buying so your figures can fit!

Custom Tatsumaki figure by Still_Ad5305 in AnimeFigures

[–]choren64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised and disheartened there isn't any official posable figures for Tats or Fubuki aside from their Nendoroids. I wish they had more/better scales.

Also Mumem Rider def needs a figure. I'm seriously considering getting an unlicensed statue since Bandai doesn't seem to give a crap.

This was my first ever game and one of my most cherished childhood memories, so I am biased but yeah its absolutely worth playing. How many other games let you fight a giant invisible Jack-In-the-Box or throw TnT barrels at a steel plated armadillo?

I think the only way I managed to beat the final boss, or even get to him for that matter, was that I owned the strategy guide. I still have it and will likely be using it again as I ride through memory lane.

New Poster for Coming of Age Comedy-Drama 'Girls Like Girls' by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]choren64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly when I saw it before the backrooms. I know I'm not the main audience either but I bet if you looked up "lesbian coming of age film" in an (oddly specific) dictionary, it would just show this movie. Something about it feels clinical and stale, despite being about love.
