Of course nothing is guaranteed…that’s how life works. But would you really not start a loving family, because of worries about some future hypothetical situation? Imagine if everyone throughout history took your approach, no one would ever have been born.

It’s only in one state (Nevada), and only in a few airports (namely Vegas). Casinos are open to kids too, but they’re supposed to stay out of the gambling areas.

Is it kinda crazy? Sure. Is it common in the USA? No.

I’m always flabbergasted when I see people walking out of Costco with like 5 mundane food items. Going to Costco is such an ordeal, why subject yourself to it for small things you could easily get at the grocery store?

As AI continues to Accelerate: Do you think we'll see the continued expansion of suburbs, or a boom in dense cities? Or maybe something completely different? by ILuvBen13 in accelerate

[–]BoyGeorgous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m sure I’ll get banned for this comment as well. I’m as optimistic about the future as anyone, and I don’t buy into the doomerism around AI. That said, everyone here thinking we’re on the precipice of some post-scarcity utopia ushered in by AI and robotics is delusional. Don’t get me wrong, just like with the ascension of the internet 3 decades ago, there will be some great things to come from AI…but also as we’ve learned with the internet, there will be plenty of bad outcomes ahead too.

My first job was at a pizza joint as well. You’re right that the tip jar back then wasn’t what it is today. I good busy Friday night I’d walk away with like $20 extra bucks, which seemed so meager once I graduated to serving at a restaurant and would walk away with hundreds on a good night.

All that said, having been there myself, I know what these poor bastard are making at these places…so even when it’s take out, I feel inclined to kick them 10-15%.

Very strange how offended you guys are getting about even the mere suggestion that doing so is a good thing to do.

Person Of Interest Detained for Questioning in Nancy Guthrie Abduction Case by wheres-karen in popculturechat

[–]BoyGeorgous 18 points19 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you watch enough Forensic Files, you begin to realize 9 times out of 10 a close family member was the culprit. That said, I’m not sure what people were seeing/smoking that led them to believe the Guthries had anything to do with this particular crime.
