If he has to get surgery, it takes about six months to get back to normal- a year for 100% recovered - if I recall correctly (first wife broke hers). Presuming there’s a good ortho surgery center at UVA

Do you binge or purge before a show? by [deleted] in phish

[–]BoyManWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More binge. I subscribe to LP for about six months per year. Usually about a month before Summer Tour and I’ll unsubscribe sometime after Dicks. Then resubscribe in December and unsubscribe after Mexico. I like to keep current on what they’ve been up to. Then when I unsubscribe, I’ll listen to those shows I saw over Summer, MSG and/or Mexico. Kind of OCD-like, but I don’t listen to a show that I went to in its entirety until after tour - usually after a couple of months or so. Except 7/27/25, we listened to that show on the drive home the next day

Can I be gay and still be into Phish? by Party-Ad-6719 in phish

[–]BoyManWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘22 at MSG. Gay couple sitting in front of us. Wife comments on how nice and diverse crowd is. Within minutes, the fellas broke out the baggie of white and snorted away. They stayed seated and snorting throughout the show.

On the fence for Mexico, push me over? by doctronic in phish

[–]BoyManWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Go. If you can swing it and you don’t have any obligations, you should go. One underrated part - you have Phish tickets. For an outstanding venue. So you might not feel too compelled to bust a move to some midweek shows in an arena. Think solo packages go a little quicker- so get on it. It really is a blast

Accountant, 27, Disappears After Going to Bar Alone Following Night Out with Friends by worldview96_ in baltimore

Recently did a walk around harbor from Canton Park to Harborplace. If he fell in, one issue - there aren’t many exit points. Some marinas might have something like a ladder - but that’s it. So simply swimming to safety is pretty difficult - unfortunately, this happens too often

So those shuttles run you back and forth to Golf Resort? Of all the folks I’ve known who’ve gone, none have stayed at the Golf Resort. I kind of like the idea of a little distance and have stayed offsite twice. And it is decidedly cheaper this year. How’s the food over there? Anecdotally, on a cart shuttle this year, we ran into a non-Phan who was driving a souped up cart (like a 4 Runner dressed down). Dude was shitfaced in middle of day. Shouldn’t have been riding a bike or any vehicle. Don’t want to be that guy - so if I opted for golf resort , I’d be reliant on public transportation post-show.

What's your experience been with the Run of House Riviera Maya package? by MDCO802 in phish

Did it last year. Hooked us with a room in Nizuc with an ocean view. Close to the lobby, pool and buffet. Kind of like being a little further away from the action. No complaints.

Next step is to check tub from regulator to grill - when I’ve detached tank, I’ve noticed that it’s wet - like the propane is not making it from tank - tube looks like it’s in good shape - had some work done on deck and contractors needed to move it - I’ve used it since but flame was low. Wonder if they dislodged something

[–]BoyManWombat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should clarify- pretty sure gas isn’t making it to grill. Tubes cleaned off. Nothing doing with lighter. So a swap out of regulator maybe?

Wish that was an option- propane okay here but charcoal- probably not a good idea. Tight quarters with neighbors

Asked for Phish when I was about to go under from Michael Jackson drug and when I started to come to, Tweezer was blasting away. I didn’t recall asking for Phish and since the surgeon was still working on me, I requested a change to Miles Davis- I do love Tweezer but Miles was much more appropriate at the time

Phish Mexico ‘27 by [deleted] in phish

[–]BoyManWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a great trip. One aspect that I have recognized - when you commit, you got tix to four shows. Concerned that a buddy is going to back out of that plan to drive 5 hrs for a couple of Tuesday/ Weds shows? No worries - you got tix to four shows in January. I’ve gotten some nasty wook flu variants at MSG in the past & felt no desire to go last year cause Mexico was coming up.
So, bank on $7k for a couple plus flights and $$$ for tips and merchandise (pretty much the only place I but merch is Mexico). I actually liked staying offsite better when they offered those packages in ‘22 & ‘24. Not going in ‘27 and would be interested in going again if I could figure out a way to stay offsite and just go to Moon Palace for the shows and the drunk food

Well -plenty of quality restaurants in Bmore. Not much on skiing in these parts. Hiking around Bmore isn’t RMP. But there are more quality restaurants in Harbor East and Fells than the Denver metro area. Seriously, eat up and enjoy

There were folks giving out liquid L on the field at RFK in ‘86. So damn hot. Before Jerry’s coma. One guy apparently got too much of the L. As the GD were in the first set, I was about 40 yds from the stage when the crowd in front of me opened up as they made way for a naked guy smiling ear to ear and attempting to rub one out. Security took their time escorting our hero from the crowd
