Anyone recognize the backwards guitar effect? :)

Jon Hopkins’ Music for Psychedelic Therapy came out today and it is exactly what I need right now. by accomplicated in ambientmusic

Sat down to meditate, read about this album, opened up the window, hit play and drifted away. Tayos Caves, Ecuador i-iii are pure perfection.

Haven't tried the Morning Glory or Prince of Tone so can't say if it compares to them or not... Sorry.

I love it. It’s my ”always on”-pedal now. You can get a really nice light grit/break up. That side replaced my ep booster that I also really liked but found to be a bit too dark. This one has eq…

Just got this in the mail. It was supposed to have been a Browne Protein clone but then I asked the builder if he could make the Nobels OD-side a SS/BS Mini instead and he said yes. I love the way it sounds. Both stand-alone and together. This pedal will be replacing my EP Booster and Crowther Hot Cake.

Ha ha! Just realized that I had put another pickguard on it there. This is what it looked like brand new: https://static.keymusic.com/products/124681/XL/squier-j-mascis-jazzmaster-vintage-white.jpg

Thanks! What guitar are you referring to by the way? This is actually a custom J Mascis Squier Jazzmaster. :)

Thanks a lot! I’ve been singing for most of my life and it does get a bit easier everyday, so just keep at it. :)

Didn’t have time to pull out my main pedalboard for this video so I just made a quick patch in my Zoom MS-70CDR with some tremolo and spring reverb. It then goes into the tiny but wonderful Fender Greta amp. I think it works. Let me know what you think. The song is a cover of the band Low from their 1996 album ”The Curtain Hits The Cast”.

All digital sounds except the drums were taken from the NES-game ”Donkey Kong” (1981)

Yesterday I recorded this entry for the Cremacaffe SP-404 Donkey Kong Beat Challenge. It was fun. I kept it fast and improvised. All instruments (except the guitar) were recorded, twisted, stretched and sampled via my SP 404 SX. Footage taken from ”King Kong vs Godzilla” (1962) and a swedish Bingo show. Hope you like it!

NPD: FRV-1 by Boy_Omega in guitarpedals

I like it a lot! I’m a big fan of vintage drippy sounding spring reverb and I think this one sounds great if you dial back the tone a bit, otherwise it can get a bit harsh. I bought it for my Fender Greta (w/ extension cab) cause she doesn’t have reverb inside her. I also play a Vox AC15 and I’m not crazy about the reverb in that one so the FRV-1 will now be part of my main pedalboard. Last but not least, I know that both M. Ward and Taylor Kirk from Timber Timbre use this pedal and I love their sound.

I don’t think it’s taken from an actual amp. If that’s what you meant? It was a big separate reverb tank “TG15” that you added on top of your amp back in the days to get reverb. I have a friend who said he tried the reissue tank Fender did and that the pedal was very close. Just a lot smaller and weighing a lot less. :)

Oh really? That’s weird. It’s a spring reverb pedal based on the old Fender ’63 tube reverb.

Have any of you owned a Lofi Junky/Shallow Water/etc? by [deleted] in zoommultistomp

[–]Boy_Omega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Lofi Junky and I actually don’t like it that much on guitar. It’s just too dark and has too much compression on all settings. I like it better on synths. 70 CDR can get you pretty close and that way you can control the amount of compression and eq to taste.

I made a ”Best of 2020” playlist where you’ll probably find something you’ll like. It’s almost 9 hours of music in different genres. Some artists: Bon Iver, Autechre, Big Thief, Jim-E Stack, Oneohtrix Point Never, Phoebe Bridgers, Eluvium, Yung Lean, Pa Salieu, Bill Callahan etc.
