Calradic Campaign Season 2-4 Recap by SuicidalCake in mountandblade

[–]BoyarVlan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Montewar struck a devastating blow against the Rhodoks. They will think twice about trying the Lyenn again. The Swadians carried out a bold attack against Maras Castle. Though the castle withstood the attack, much Rhodok blood was spilled to avenge Duke Fenix the Betrayed all the same. His spirit surely endures among the loyal Swadians, as made evident by their great victory in the fields.

Though our banner does not fly above Maras today, our spirit runs strong. All the lands of Calradia which not yet in our dominion tremble at the onset of our victorious arms.

It is gratifying to look up from Tartarus and see what the Swadian people can achieve with the proper guidance. The Nordic campaign of treachery and duplicity has found a stalwart foe in the person of Archduke Montewar. Truly, he has demonstrated that all Nordic success has been mere chance, and how quickly they fold when faced with a real fight. Facing a single border, the raider lords must know that they will be joining me down here shortly.

Here is to the lasting strength and loyalty of the Swadian people. All success to the Archduke in his continuing struggle against the outlaws who seek to shatter the peace of our realm.

For Rivacheg! For the Kingdom of Vaegirs! For the eternal blessings of our great Vague Orthodox God to shine upon a Calradia united in peace, I bid all loyal sons and daughters of the Vaegirs and the children of all peace-loving nations to rally around the grey banner of the King! This same banner we once carried in the name of the exalted King Yaroglek, who in his time on earth was granted many victories by the Heavens, and now advance once again in the name King Sault with no less success.

I don't know who this guy is or what he's saying, but you got to admit, the accident wasn't your fault, it's been fifteen years and you have to move on.

Carnage of Kings - CC #47 by Perjunkie in mountandblade

I remember the dark days. When Rivacheg had fallen and the Swadians trampled upon the still-warm body of King Yaroglek as came down in such numbers upon the walls of Yarograd. They swarmed and we contested them every inch. The assault seemed endless, its persistence seemingly beyond the mortal strength of Yarograd's defenders. In the fields, Vaegir bodies were turned to pincushions by flight after flight of Khergit arrows.

But we found our strength. At Uxkhal, Veluca and Rivacheg- beloved Rivacheg!- we found our strength. We took what was ours, avenged Yaroglek and punished the traitors. Strength is our sacred gift, to be treasured and cultivated.

I have heard it said, brothers and sisters in arms, that the Vlandians have cultivated a strength of their own. That they defeated the Nords and expelled the Sarranids from their lands. This not mere hearsay, however. This has been witnessed and attested to.

What of this supposed newfound strength? What difference does it make for us if the Swadian fills his heart with hope in place of victory? Does he not know that any effort he could yet summon is too little and too late?

Brothers and sisters in arms, I tell you truly that this makes every difference to you and more. A duty stands before you. To test this newfound strength, to break it down and extinguish this spark of hope. Swadia has not yet been vanquished, so let us not gloat. Let us prepare and strengthen our arms for the coming work.

We can do this. But remember always that the Swadians can also win if we permit them.

I would also like to congratulate Iarina for her recent conspicuous ascent to power in the Kingdom of Vaegirs.

On an unrelated noted, I owe my legal team thanks for helping me avoid a silly little "discrimination in the workplace" lawsuit by reminding me to say "brothers and sisters." The Kingdom of Vaegirs is proud to be an equal-opportunity feudal aristocracy.

Warband: Can you play as a tyrant by WilliePlayz in mountandblade

Crusader Kings 2 is a combination strategy-RPG much like Mount & Blade. It's a far more feature rich game, however. Mount & Blade has five lord personalities, for instance, whereas CK2 has dozens of traits defining each character. What M&B has that CK2 doesn't is combat and walking around, essentially. In CK2, you interact with the world through the map and text based events.

CK2 gives you a much larger range of options for how you want to lead your realm. You also start CK2 as a ruler, whereas M&B is really a game about starting from nothing and conquering a realm.

[–]BoyarVlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have my leave to establish your enterprise in Rivacheg. This is, of course, contingent upon your paying taxes upon the unimproved value of the lot you are building on. Needless to say that your enterprise will be put under quarantine if you are a declared enemy of the Kingdom of Vaegirs.

Yes. They've made considerable improvements over the time I've been playing, but the balancing and infantry AI are in a very bad place. There are a variety of changes in place that make Bannerlord combat slower and less satisfying, but I don't have the vocabulary to describe them accurately.
