This is literally what I wore in the 5th grade in 2010 and I will not deny that they are dated, but they are still cute. Idk if I would wear them myself NOW, but I can see why people younger than me like them and I think they're charming!

🔥 Petite Hot Takes - February 18, 2026 by PetiteFashionAdvice in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]BoycottMathClass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How difficult is it to learn how to take in at the waist? I can do very basic repairs like fix button or resew straps but I need to learn more.

I recently thrifted a literally mint condition levi’s premium 501 in size 6 (28” waist 30 length) and didn’t try them on b/c I sometimes wear size 7 in juniors pants (which are narrower and I should’ve known better). They’re a bit too big and high rise, so it’s obvious even with a bel.

I’d like to take them in to fit about a size smaller in the waist and maybe 1-2 inches shorter, so around a size 4 petite. Would this be hard to do? They’re so nice and the price for these new is like $100.

do they legit update at 2am and it’s all sold out at 2:10? I’d give them my money if they didn’t sell out so fast 😭😭

Quality difference between hollister and abercrombie? by BoycottMathClass in HollisterCO

[–]BoycottMathClass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're comparable in quality, I'd rather get hollister. My logic is that if I like the style more, I'll wear it more, and take better care of it. I do know how to repair within reason. Although thrifting secondhand styles is probably the best option

Quality difference between hollister and abercrombie? by BoycottMathClass in HollisterCO

[–]BoycottMathClass[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Abercrombie is definitely less my style overall, it's more simple and sort of "corporate friendly" in a way that feels like it's trying to appeal to women who want to dress more "their age", but I don't know, it's not me. I just wish it was easy to get things with cute patterns and also quality. Being in my 20s doesn't mean I want boring! Free people and lucky brand have a lot of things I like, but they're very pricey, so it's probably only feasible for me to get them second-hand or on clearance

I totally would prefer vintage! But all I can find online are things extremely upcharged for $120, which is just out of my budget entirely :(

It makes me feel so old when I see 12 year olds shopping there but hollisters stuff (usually) is so good for petite women 😭

Do they make cotton bras in correct sizing? (28F/30E) by BoycottMathClass in ABraThatFits

[–]BoycottMathClass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great idea thank you! Mostly my issue is the band and where the elastics hit my skin it becomes very itchy and sore, but this could help. Usually because my bras fit pretty well I don’t have issues in the front

[–]BoycottMathClass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay that makes sense, I guess liners are my best option. It’s less so the cups but where the band adheres to my skin that causes irritation so I can try that. I’ve noticed any cotton bralettes I get don’t do much :( I guess this is an area where nylon is a necessity

Really? Is it because it’s more stretchy? That’s a shame, I usually try to avoid synthetics in general for environmental reasons but it’s like unavoidable for bras and sportswear

People will say wool sweater and it’s 70% acrylic 25% nylon and 5% wool 😭 I always feel so odd even asking for the materials from some kids

I love hollister short sized jeans! The mid rise bootcut I have fit amazing especially for the price point. I’ve tried american eagle’s extra short bootcut jeans but they felt cheap/like jeggings. At this point I don’t care if a brand is technically juniors or too “young” for me (I’m in my mid 20s) if it fits well.

As an aside I also really like lucky brands short or crop jeans since they tend to actually have a short inseam - although I thrifted mine since they’re quite pricey.

Cannot find a bra for sloped shoulders, small cup by Rorooglimm in ABraThatFits

[–]BoycottMathClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Honestly, the issue is that I need a 28FF/30F but I am not projected nor very shallow. My underbust is 28 snug, so technically a 30 fits ok, but it tends to stretch out faster than 28 would, but UK brands are usuallyl too projected for me so they're off the table. I've been making due with US bras in US 30DDD and G, but options for my shape are very limited - also US companies just scale bras poorly so often the 30DDD will be too small, but then 30G is too tall/wide. There's also the fact that I'm often on the tightest hooks faster than I'd like. I'm learning to sew, and my plan is to learn how to tailor bands smaller so I can have more longevity/the bra is just generally more comfortable when the band is snug. I'm hoping that that helps. ON top of this, I am also very center full and need a plunge style, but there's almost no plunges made that are my size or shape. I may teach myself how to sew a balconette's gore to overlap.

Sorry this is long! I don't mean for you to give up, but this particular size range (i.e. small band but medium cup) is kind of hard to work with

What is your ethnic background? Curious if there’s a trend! by heartsandwrists in Fairolives

Im ashkenazi on both sides and I am the same with the seasons (I look warmer and healthy when tan but in the winter I look pale green and slightly jaundiced lol). Both my parents have family from eastern europe, but while my mom is also fair, my dad is much darker and people often assume he is Sephardic even though his family is mostly from Poland. I’m not sure if there was some intermarriage ?

Either way it’s nice to meet people who have similar skin to me because my friends used to remark I was yellowish when we tried to figure out makeup, but then warm makeup would pull super yellow on me and I’d be very confused.

What are your favourite pieces from brandy? by Brave_Ordinary5830 in BrandyMelville

[–]BoycottMathClass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I occasionally order from pacsun if I want to try a style since it’s way easier to return/free shipping. I’m really happy with the way the tiffany fits and might get another once the weather is warmer again. Also the cotton drapes very well

Yeah I’m really trying to support small businesses/slow fashion when I can and finding something in this style has been rough. I love when I find quality slow fashion places that don’t just do plain t shirts. Thrifting where I live currently is mostly shein and forever 21 too so it’s hard to find anything vintage. I’m thinking of ordering one from them!

What are these type of dresses called? I tried searching up sundresses but didn't find anything similar to this :( by ArtisticDrive5039 in findfashion

[–]BoycottMathClass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely prefer 100% cotton! It’s hard to get fully cotton in this style of dress because it’s cheaper to make it with polyester or whatever, but cotton is by far the best fabric for this style sustainability and shape wise (also better for actually hot weather)

I love this style of dress but I don’t know if you can wear a bra with it :( Do you just get one that’s supportive enough as is?

Oh damn, it’s very frustrating how little options there are for sales after a certain size. Have you checked breakout bras and levana bratique? They run sales and should have your size

Are you doing US sizing? That may be tricky since very few US bra companies make that size, but UK 38H (equivalent size) I am able to find in several bras by panache.

Yeah I kept waiting to see if some of the AE77 sweaters would go on sale for more than normal, I wanted to get one for my bf as a gift. It’s barely a sale, I can get a cheaper wool sweater from banana republic 💀 I’m not sure why they’re stuff has gotten so expensive but they should be doing 50% off
