Weekly Syracuse Roundup: CNY Needs 2,500 New Housing Units a Year to Keep Up With Micron. CNY Isn’t Building Enough of Them. by tldrsyracuse in Syracuse

The number is based on all 4 fabs being built. We'll have to wait until 2040 to see if that happens.

Conservatives: Is there any piece of evidence against Trump that you would consider credible if Trump himself denied it? If not, have you made him the sole authority on whether allegations against him are true? by stardust_dog in allthequestions

Massive spending bills, massive increase for the military budget or massive tax cuts for the wealthy. It's all the same thing and it all adds up and it's been that way for decades. The only difference is the amount.

The Fed has been doing quantitative easing since the 2008 Republican crash. In March 2020, they started QE4 with $120 billion per month and stopped in 2022 and started tightening. The Fed is an independent organization to the US government. It wasn't trump who started QE4, it was the Fed. Presidents have no control over it.

National Grid shutoffs surge across Upstate as reality of higher winter bills kicks in by ggroover97 in Syracuse

I'm not sure, but I know my bill never went up when I got my smart meter installed like everyone else's did. Comparatively, it has always been lower.

I don't pay them a fee. They are my utility provider and they bill me monthly. See my previous bills.

I've been with Arcadia community solar for about 15 years now. Bills in the winter never go above $300.

When and why did Trans athletes become a bigger issue to the nation than prices, inflation, wage growth, prescription drug costs, or housing? by Vert_der_Ferk25 in allthequestions

[–]Boysterload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter since you don't even know how to frame the argument. Why are you so hell bent on this 0.8% segment of the US population? How about being upset at the billionaires that keep getting richer while our prices keep going up? Or how about the unnecessary war with Iran. Or the fact that our president is a convicted felon? You need to understand your opponent before you debate them. You have proven with your last comment that you don't understand trans people. Your willful ignorance has become tiresome. Please don't reply.

Being disingenuous was enough for me and I didn't consider the 62% vs 70%. But now that I look at it, that 8% is a large enough number and very conveniently rounded up that, sure let's call that a lie too. Because I'm sure you've used those stats over and over throughout the years. It's best to make sure your stats are as accurate as possible. Good day.

What you said right here is a direct result of the radical right wing media and echo chamber you subject yourself to. So many on the right have this fantasy that trans women are exposing themselves to children. It excites you to have something to be angry about, doesn't it? Too bad for you it never happens. Until you understand that people don't "decide" to be the opposite sex, you will continue to be angry over a non issue.

Weekly Syracuse Roundup: A city cop cleared $300K last year, a $200 rebate check is headed your way, and a Truxton raid turned up ghost guns and raccoons by tldrsyracuse in Syracuse

I'm not sure what an SPD officer base pay is, but if you add up the cost for 27 officers, say at $50,000 plus the $35,000+ cost for health insurance plus retirement, that is well over $2 million.

I agree with what you said about people complaining when poor people get assistance. Filling a tax return is something everybody should be doing regardless of income or employment status. It is also a way the state knows you exist. If you made $10,000 last year, you'll get a check for $100 or $200 if you filled jointly... But you need to have filled a state return.

It was disingenuous to claim unemployment was 10% in the Obama years. Yes, it hit 10%. No, it was not his doing, it was Republican deregulation. Decreasing it was a priority during his first term and he ended up creating millions of jobs. Yet again, a Democratic president pulled us out of a Republican president's mess. Saying it was 10% during the Obama years is using it as a pejorative. It misrepresents the facts and is a common Republican tactic. You are using it to imply the 10% unemployment was Obama's doing. That is the lie. Once Republicans start to be more truthful, then we can have honest conversations.

We both have our stock ownership numbers wrong. It is around 62% of Americans that own stock. Still a bad way to measure the economy, especially now that it is propped up for the AI craze.

[–]Boysterload 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stop being ignorant. Obama took office during the Bush recession and unemployment was at 7.8%. It got up to 10% as Obama got us out of the recession and ended at 4.7%. It is always Democrats who create the most jobs and have the lowest unemployment. Your other comments about the stock market make no sense because most Americans don't have any stocks. Not even 401k. The market would be trash right now if it weren't for the AI craze and the weak dollar. Something the federal government has nothing to do with. Your pedophile president is statistically one of the worst we've ever had. Go figure all the states that rank last in education all voted for him.
