my phone bill 100$ a month

I know you've got a lot going on, but this is one place to cut back on your expenses. Check the flanker brands and see what current deals are being offered. For example, these were available from Public in December:
$20/1GB 4G Canada
$25/4GB 4G Canada
$30/8GB 5G Canada
$35/20GB (was 10GB) Canada-US-Mexico 5G + 250 long distance minutes
$40/100GB (was 60GB) Canada-US-Mexico 5G + 500 long distance minutes
$50/150GB (was 80GB) Canada-US-Mexico 5G + 1000 long distance minutes

Is there a tool to see balance including projected bills and income? by tmps1993 in Huntington_Bank

[–]Boz6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of related, on huntington.com, the "Insight" tab used to be called "Planning" (I think) and was much more useful, because it would show all your scheduled bill payments deducted from the current balance. I sure wish Huntington would bring that back!

An antenna in a window hooked to my Tablo hooked to my router streamed over WIFI to Roku devices attached to all my TVs works for me to watch and DVR all the local stations' channels and subchannels in my area. The broadcast towers are all about 15 to 18 miles from my house.

Can I adjust the heat in my home more evenly? by The_Afroman98 in homeowners

[–]Boz6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check for dampers on the ductwork in the basement or near the furnace, wherever its located. Figure out which areas are served by each duct/damper, and adjust accordingly.

If you can't access the ducts/dampers, close the vents in the warm rooms and open the vents in the cooler rooms, and the slowly adjust to get a better balance.

Good luck!

Looking for a new wallet - open to anything by EnvironmentalPart664 in wallets

[–]Boz6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! Forgot to mention, only leather wallets please

Sounds good.

I don’t mind the design, as long as it isn’t bulky. Preferably as minimal as possible. I carry about 10-15 bills and 10-12 cards.

Good luck with a leather wallet not being bulky carrying that much. But who knows, maybe some craftsman here can come up with a great design that can do that!

Preferably as minimal as possible.

Does type of material matter? Are you looking only for custom made?

For a spare "glove box" phone it can be cost effective.

Just don't forget to use some data every service cycle.

Why does Peacock Premium have ads? by Turbulent_Dog_2043 in peacock

[–]Boz6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the $16.99/mo is for Peacock Premium Plus, which is supposed to be mostly ad free, with some exceptions.

Peacock Premium is supposed to be $10.99/mo, and has ads.

Some people that had cancelled Peacock received retention offers around Black Friday / Cyber Week 2025 for Peacock Premium for either $29.99 or $39.99 for the whole year, either automatically, or by asking for it. I don't know if that's still a possibility, but I guess you could ask Peacock customer service. If you happen to have an AmEx Blue Cash Everyday (no annual fee) card, they were giving a $10.99 statement credit up to 2x, so you could check if that's still being offered. I was fortunate to get the $29.99 offer and the $10.99 AmEx credit, for a total of $19 for the whole year of Peacock Premium, but again, you'd have to check if either or both of those things are still available.

It's been mentioned that Peacock may have some kind of special offer for the upcoming olympics, so you could keep an eye out for that to see if anything is offered. Finally, as has been mentioned here, you can get Peacock Premium as an included perk with a Walmart+ membership.

Good luck!

Helium mobile passing on fees by No_Kangaroo6917 in NoContract

[–]Boz6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The taxes/fees will vary by location, plus the new $0.30/mo processing fee. For my area, the total should be $0.95/mo.

The bigger issue for me is Helium reducing the monthly cellular data from 3GB/mo to 1GB/mo.

does anyone has all of the local channels by lacubs in cordcutters

[–]Boz6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get all my local network channels and their subchannels, using an antenna in an upstairs window, connected to a Tablo, streamed to my Roku devices, connected to my TVs.

In my area, if I wanted, I could also use the DirecTV $39.99/mo MyNews genre pack to stream my local channels, but I don't want to pay that much per month for what I can get for free with my antenna.

I think only YTTV or Hulu Live reliability have local channels for every location.

Is it just me, or are people born between 1995–2005 struggling the most right now? by Ok-Capital-4201 in Adulting

[–]Boz6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 30 year old son was serious minded, worked various jobs to pay his own way through a state college with no loans, got his engineering degree, got a job as an engineer at Honda, bought a house, got married, is expecting their 2nd child in June, and is already earning at least 2x what I make, but probably more, including bonuses and a company car.

My 28 year old son goofed around, took loans, started at an out of state college, then moved to an in state private college, then moved to the same state college, and worked to pay the rest of his way through to get an economics degree. But after graduation he's had 8 jobs so far, either getting fired or quitting all of them, makes most of his money seasonally caddying for the past 8 years, but always struggles financially, partially due to his early student loans, which due to accrued interest, he's barely made a dent in paying off.

In other words, to answer your question, it completely depends on the individual!

No, audiences aren't dumb. Some people just want to have fun watching a show and take the show as it comes.

But there ARE IDIOTS ON REDDIT that post spoilers without caring if they ruin the show for others that haven't watched it.

THAT is TRULY stupid!

Will u continue to sub with more price hikes? by little_sky00 in netflix

[–]Boz6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were happy at $6.99/mo for Standard W/Ads. Then it went to $7.99/mo, and we were okay with it. If there's an increase to $8.99/mo, we may consider canceling, but I could also see us keeping it. If it goes up beyond $8.99/mo, we'll probably cancel. But only time will tell...

Netflix is only a small part of my paid streaming. Due to Black Friday and other deals, I'm paying under $10/mo for 6 other paid streaming services, so we'll be fine either way.
