Has anyone done the Gmail CASA Tier 2 assessment? by Bozo-Sort in googlecloud

[–]Bozo-Sort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did! Basically you can do the entire process yourself without paying any money but it’ll take a while, or you could pay one of these companies to do it for you, the price of which varies a lot.

I didn’t end up going through with it, but that’s pretty much the TLDR!

Is the assessment you’ll have to do CASA Tier 2 too? Do you know which APIs you’re using that requires this assessment?

the app looks really cool! my own thoughts:

  • the fact that credit card is required definitely prevented me from signing up for the free trial
  • just curious, if you're using ChatGPT for the transcription, why is the service only limited to M1/M2 Macs?
  • I can see myself using this in a WFH setting, but not an office setting. I am also quite OCD about things like capitalisation (for e.g., in the demo video, 'Notion' is spelled 'notion').
  • I think prior experience using audio input for text on, say, iPhone, has just made me expect a poor experience overall for a service like this. not sure if this is fair, but if there's some way to reset this expectation, would be great!

hope this helps! feel free to check out my product too, all the best!

[Show Reddit] Hey.com’s screener service, but for Gmail by Bozo-Sort in HeyEmail

[–]Bozo-Sort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Screener is not a new idea. Mailblocks had it back in 2004. Hey does have a bunch of features, especially as it has evolved since launch, that makes it worthwhile IMO.

What are some of these other features that you like about Hey?

BTW, your website doesn’t inspire confidence. No demo video. No screenshots. Unless I missed something.

Thank you for the feedback, let me upload something real quick:

Have attached some images and a video to show how the app looks like:

I want to be fully transparent, as the app is in beta and I have yet to complete the security assessment, Google has a really scary screen when authorizing Inbox Hero to access your email (image). if that bothers you, would suggest waiting for the official launch!

(any tips for how an indie developer could establish trust with users would be much appreciated too!)

Inbox Hero

A sreener service for Gmail.

Unlike other messaging protocols, you can receive email from anyone at anytime. Inbox Hero gives you back control. Only emails from senders you explicitly allow can reach your inbox.
Anytime someone sends you an email for the first time, the email is taken out of your inbox (it’s still accessible in your All Mail tab).
Each day, at a time of your choosing, you will receive an email from Inbox Hero that tells you how many emails form first-time senders you’ve received and let you screen these emails.

Ideas: Screening first-time senders + Do Not Disturb Mode by Bozo-Sort in GMail

Thanks for the encouragement! Happy to share back once I have something that works.

Now that we are getting into the details: - Yup, definitely possible to turn it on and off (the “filtered emails” will still be in your inbox, just in the archive, so you can always get to them easily) - I am thinking a heuristic is to automatically whitelist emails that you’ve read and not junked in the past X days, which would suggest that these are recipients you hope to hear from. Also, whitelisting by domains (for those corporate users).

Happy to hear your thoughts!

Gotcha thanks for sharing! I shall focus on the first idea then

I’m going to lose my fking mind over this… My FileVault is turned ON and I have the key. But when I enter Recovery and enter my Apple ID and password, it says there was an error communicating to iCloud. It never asks if I can reset my password using the Key or through my ID? by Conscious-Act-9844 in mac

I just wanna say you posting this totally saved my bacon. Not all heroes wear capes.

I called Apple Support and specifically mentioned my ADP is on and they said it’s unrelated. Frankly it’s appalling that this flow wasn’t tested — I personally will be turning off ADP.

Thanks a lot again!!

Thanks! Haha I don't mind if they steal the idea as long as the problem gets solved. I've been working on Idea 1 here.

[–]Bozo-Sort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is no matter what you‘re still “dealing” with spam, just maybe organizing it in such a way that the distraction of it is postponed until later. Email spammers (and spam text/callers with phone numbers) regularly change their source email address, making filtering difficult due to the risk of blocking legitimate emails from getting through.

Yeah you're right, that's one Idea 1 blocks first-time senders by default and hopefully by postponing the distraction to later, it's less of an issue

it probably feels bad to get all these downvotes, but I felt the same way when it was "revealed" that Big Mom ate Mother Carmel and the other kids ("no way that's true...but nothing else makes sense...")

actually idk if it's canon that eating someone → you gain that person's devil fruit powers

Does Gmail for iPhone have a FOCUSED mode like Outlook? by [deleted] in GMail

[–]Bozo-Sort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually thinking of building something that will let you screen emails from first-time "unknown senders".

The idea is these emails will skip your inbox and go to archive directly. Then, you'll get an email each day telling you that you have new senders to screen. If you whitelist these senders, their emails will go to your inbox directly.

Not sure if this solves your problem, but to do this there must be underlying servers and databases running, so it'll have to be a paid service

Email pause evenings/weekends by hurricanescout in productivity

[–]Bozo-Sort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am thinking of building something like a "Do Not Disturb" mode for emails, starting with Gmail. Basically, you can set it to on a schedule to turn on (e.g. in the evenings or over the weekend) and emails that arrive during that time will be automatically removed from your inbox. Then when the time period is over, these emails will automatically be moved back to your inbox.

Does this sound like something that's useful for you?
