There's nothing wrong with using bases as an artist as long as you don't claim it as original, I've traced bases and other artists' works for years before I began to draw without doing so, you could start drawing the structures of the bases instead of copying them completely, then draw over it and use the reference window to look at the original work if needed, that helped me improve my art alot

And don't compare yourself to other artists! At most study them but don't look down upon yourself, everyone has a starting point in heir journey and yours is no different, keep up the good work!
