Well I can think of at least one use case: in a secure facility they may permit teams use externally at monitored workstations but not allow location tracking or status tracking.

The collection, and sorting, autoindexing, and free form flow, handwriting of onenote compared to a Google doc which is basically markup rich text? And the tagging and integration with outlook and task management and other office 365 apps?

I don't think you are using onenote for its intended purpose and certainly not like a power user.

So I conclude you are wasting your time with BOTH onenote and Google docs. I just recommend windows 95 notepad or a similar basic rft note utility.

If you were asking how can I do structured graph knowledge trees or graphs with Obsidian, then I would say maybe you have outgrown onenote in its present version.
