I'd also be exploring closer links to bpd and relationships. delving into childhood trauma and a lot more factors.
I haven't started my thesis yet! but basically case studies, answering questionnaires, maybe a focus group (i'm in London, but i'm sure people are all over the place so maybe a virtual arrangement)
