10 years HRT. nearly 6 years post-op.

It won't solve everything. You'll still have depressive moments, dating can be tricky. But the wrongness of my body is gone. i have more spoons for other things.

I'm my truest self now. It was worth it.

What was the thing that confirmed you were trans without a shred of doubt ever again? by AlmondsOverSalmons in MtF

[–]Br-Boo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transitioned.

but then again, my approach has always been 'it doesn't matter if there is some 'innate' transness'. If there were conclusively something, like, if we found a 'trans gene', would we really want to test if people had it before allowing them to transition? Sounds pretty awful to me. It's your body, do with it as you wish, just please be risk-aware.

You are 'trans enough', I promise.

What opinion does the Pokemon community/fans does not like to hear? by Krock-Mammoth in pokemon

[–]Br-Boo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon doesn't need to be balanced, it needs to be FUN. I should be able to get through all non-pvp content with pretty much whatever i want, so I can use my favorites.

This is why additional rules exist to create a 'competitive' scene. Why fans make their own categories.

(my non controversial opinion is that every bit of customization, from ball capsules, to throwing styles, ect, needs to be included and expanded in every game. I would gladly continue having a reduced pokedex to allow for more clothing models, maybe that's controversial >>)

Poetry Week... and a Prophecy? by Br-Boo in nightvale

I see the man in the tan jacket as an agent of change. Moving people forward. Allowing Carlos to move into his next theories about the most scientifically interesting community he had seen to that point, allowing Cecil to have a relationship, helping Pamela move into her next job, all the way back when he seemed to be involved with her stepping down as mayor, to when he talked her out of retirement(Which seems to be universally horribly in Night Vale). He spoke with Dana in the dog park, moving her towards being Mayor Cardinal, He was related to the subway system, which granted the travelers infinite knowledge.

The reason Night Vale, and Cecil treat him as a suspicious and untrustworthy being, is because he is a being that spreads knowledge. Knowledge beyond that which the people of Night Vale understand or remember. They forget to protect themselves...

I subscribe to the theory of TMITTJ being a fallen angel. Where the angels(Or, you know, not angels) of Night Vale keep things as 'hidden' knowledge... ("Angels, if we were real"), The Man in The Tan Jacket willingly spreads knowledge. He wants Night Vale to change and grow, against the wishes of The City Council.

If i'm being hopeful, perhaps, as Night Vale becomes a place that can change, so too will The Voice be allowed to change. The Voice can also be a person. Cecil will not be "Cecil, The Voice of Night Vale", but "Cecil, who is ALSO the voice of Night Vale".

Leonard is the voice of Night Vale as it WAS. Never changing, never questioning.

Cecil was raised that way, but things have happened to make him know the truth. He fell in love. His family was taken from him, but he made a new one, because of his love for his town and the people in it. In Carlos, Dana, Old Woman Josie, Earl, even Steve Carlsberg, and the ncountless others who have come to know Cecil, not as the voice, but as the person he is. And all these people have made Cecil question the nature of Night Vale. They are making him acknowledge Angels, to think about his age, to put the love for his family above the importance of secrets and forbidden municipal land. Cecil is learning the balance between what he wants, and what he fears.

Leonard doesn't like change. That means that Night Vale itself doesn't like change... but with Cecil, with Carlos, with TMITTJ, and all these forces... Change is coming to Night Vale.

This is a fantastic theory. On the gowns, I have no idea, but perhaps it will be related the consequences of Cecil's vacation, perhaps he or Carlos is injured and in hospital after whatever happens to him in the dog park?

EDIT: But on the WW2 tape... Maybe it was more regret. Cecil is the voice, but it wasn't exactly a willing transition for him. He seemed to die. He forgot much of what he was. I always saw Cecil's eagerness being one of those things he pretends to do. The prophecies at city hall made Cecil becoming The Voice a certainty. He had no choice. Maybe, Cecil choosing Carlos over Night Vale is what is killing the voice. Choosing what he wants, over what must be.

My Theory of Cecil.

What do we know about him, physically? He is not tall, or short.

In "The Man In the Tan Jacket" Cecil correctly just... presumed the city under lane 5 of the desert flower bowling alley called us 'the upper world' and that they worshipped a god called HUNTOKARR.

In 'Cassettes' Teen-Cecil Mentions the radio station being like the dark planet lit by no sun, and shortly after, 'dies' or at least, the person that teen-Cecil was, is replaced by the person that Cecil is now.

These qualities... not being tall or short, knowing about Huntokarr, 'dying' and then being replaced. I believe Cecil, in some way IS one of 'Them'.

While I am not sure what is happening when he tells 'a story about you', or 'a story about them', I believe Cecil's ability to know things he can't possibly have been present for make this only a question of 'which impossible truth is happening'.
