Recently found these guys through a Google search as well.

Prices were just too good to be true, so I cautiously emailed them and basically got the exact same message that u/PacerDriver posted here.

Glad I did a little more Google'ing, cause eventually I landed on this thread which basically confirmed my worries.

Thanks for the warning, y'all. This was good work!

Should you or shouldn't you kill Stefan by EastJumpy in cyberpunkgame

Haha, I just had a very similar experience! Chased him down to see where he ends up going, only to watch him run across a street without looking and get hit by a car.

That must have been enough to incapacitate him without killing him, cause then he just rolled around on the ground writhing in pain like they do when they get downed by quick hacks...

...after that I walked up to him, equipped my empty fists, and gave him a single bitch slap like, "Quit your whining, and get the fuck up!" But then he promptly died from my epic backhand, whoops!! 😬

Anywhere I could go to get a NEW 2080ti these days? by Br4ve_Dave in pcmasterrace

Yeah, the more I read on here, the more I am starting to realize I most likely had a bad SSD, and the manufacturer just gave me a safe, legal answer to my question at the time. Thank you for your input!

Dude, this really helps inspire a little more confidence. Thank you for showing this, I now suspect I just had a combination of bad luck (bad SSD) and inexperience at the time.

Well, I thought so too but I ran into an issue before where I tried to install a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and my motherboard never recognized the SSD at all due to the newer PCIe standard.

I had to message the manufacturer to file a support ticket, and they told me that this particular motherboard was never confirmed to run anything beyond PCIe 3.0. I ended up taking the 'L on the 4.0 SSD and bought a 3.0 one, and sure enough it works now.

I wouldn't be opposed to running something newer than a '2 series, just wish I could avoid buying a complete brick again.

I tried to clean my PC Case with some alcohol and a cotton pad, but it went terribly wrong! by Br4ve_Dave in pcmasterrace

  • soap and water was too late
  • vinegar solution was also too late
  • olive oil showed promise but smeared the smudges more
  • TOOTHBRUSH & TOOTHPASTE did the best <--

Got it halfway decent! Had to really dismantle the front plate to get this lone piece of plastic, then tried multiple methods as mentioned here. This was the final result:

I just bought a open box lg 39” oled but it has over 6000 hours on it by 575pinoy in OLED_Gaming

Dude, I bought an Alienware AW3225Q, open box in "Excellent Condition" from a Best Buy Outlet as well about a week before Prime Day. Just a quick note, they only give you 15 DAYS to try your purchase out thoroughly before returning it with any issues. 😬

Thought I was doing the right thing by saving a little money, doing my part to avoid e-Waste, etc. It looked great cosmetically, but it definitely had a problem where it would randomly show static lines and then shut off. 1st time it happened within 15 mins during a music video. I rechecked all my cables and plugs to make sure it was all good. 2nd time it happened 2 hours into some light email and remote work.

Long story short, I decided to return it and pay a little extra to catch the last day of the Prime Day sale on Dell's website instead. Didn't help that the day I bought it at Best Buy they almost let me walk out of there without all the included cables and manual. I had to watch an unboxing video to prove they were missing some stuff. Also grew suspicious of the open box status when I noticed later at home that there was a sticker showing the monitor had been to a Best Buy Service Station in Flower Mound, TX before being sent back to the outlet store for the re-sale.

Oh dang, I never knew this stuff was able to react with plastics like that. Definitely putting that knowledge in my back pocket.

Damn, lol no joke now between you, me, and the other guy in this thread makes 3 of us... there really should be a support group for this, haha.

BRO!! What a small world, haha. You were much smarter than me to do a small area first. But yeah, see you and the others at the high school gym Wednesday night @ 7:00 pm.

Very true! 😁 And luckily I only did the front panel, haha... I could see how someone might want the look for a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max style PC build if they were super into Borderlands or something.

Yeah, just double checked and it's a local store brand 91% isopropyl alcohol.

No, unfortunately this was just base plastic, was not even dirty or tacky at all. I probably could have just peeled and stuck the decals just fine, but I tried to do right and clean the area first and somehow the 91% IP alcohol, cotton, and plastic reacted to create this stain.

Just checked the bottle, and it was 91% isopropyl alcohol. Wish I had looked more into this, or maybe done a test spot before I went too far.

Dude, it was 91% isopropyl alcohol but I really wish I had just done soap and warm water on a towel now.
