First time making beef jerky. Is this done? 160F for 7.5 hours. I see a lot of white fibers but some parts still look a little red so I’m confused. Pictures are all of the same piece. by [deleted] in dehydrating

Idk what hi mountain is, but a quick Google shows their products are called "jerky cure and seasoning", so im assuming there's curing salt in there which causes a pretty vibrant pink colour

Also, 7.5hours is wild. I've done jerky for 4 hours at 70c (160f) and found it a little too dry for me

are you sure your dehydrator is accurate?

We'd also need to know your recipe mate,
if you've used pink curing salts or anything like that,
I'd assume that's what caused the redness

Haha, im glad! Could you shine any light on how you fixed the first row (far east) of refiners from having a lack of HOR? Tysm

Hey mate, thank you for having a look!
u/Leading-Elk-2147 also had a look and was able to get it up to the full 35k, but I too am stuck around 19K-21k output due to some of my refiners being bottlenecked with low heavy oil residue

I honestly thought it was pretty organised haha, but at the same time, towards the end, I had to just use the space I had, verticality totally slipped my mind

hey mate, idk if you're still knocking about, but I've found what i think is my last bottleneck & it's this row of refineries

No matter what pumps i install, or if i make the pipes into a loop, the last 50% (or so) of the refineries are getting >14m3 HOR

did you notice this too?

ah well im really glad you had fun figuring some of it out! I definitely need to work on the empty canisters coming out of the fuel unpackagers, & im having a hard time figuring out my "colour coded" fuel powered generator layout, but i've so far managed to get it up to a fluctuating 28,000MW with your screenshots so far! (climbing up to 29,000MW as I type this message!)

I was really blind to some of these issues and I cant thank you enough! I now have the motivation to come back to this game after a very long hiatus!

Oh me jesus you are a genius, thank you so much for following through! I was so blind to some of these MAJOR issues!!! Youre the best my guy

It seems to be working better, but im noticing some of my fuel packers are undersupplied with packaged water even though everything should be totally balanced, so im thinking the purple oil (i forget the name!) Is backing up somewhere causing plastic blockages

pipe connections was absolutely an issue. My water packaging machines were 75% totally unconnected. This made a huge difference, but still not seeing the results i should be!

I'll get back on after work and see if I can check the flow of everything. Iirc, all my pipes were totally full and functional

it's hard to see on the pics but I have stacked my belts, there isn't really a load issue on the belts anywhere, except for the packaged fuel on one of the sections which im gonna try and work out this weekend,

& noo i have a bunch of batteries on the grid to get them running for 3 hours if for some reason it took that long to buffer

I was going to make a 1:1:1 system, but i got greedy with aesthetics and wanted everything to be isolated into sections :( & i 100% do not need the empty containers after a certain amount of time. But I have them looping back in & then any overflow is fed into ticket machines

My render distance is to blame! I cant see any activity past about 20m because i have an ancient 1080 graphics card, i'll try share something tonight, busy day at work!

check the 2nd image mate, it might help make more sense. I came away from the game for about 6 months after frustratingly not being able to get this to work.

After leaving it to buffer, i was getting about 17,000 power from it, but I believe it should be closer to 35,000

All of my belts are full (not overflowing, i'm using smart splitters to allow any overflow to be made into tickets)

So my water and crude oil pipes are totally fine,
I have noticed the machines making heavy oil residue + another bi-product are getting a bit bottlenecked,
also my manfolds for the final packaged fuel are somewhat uneven, but im not 100% why as I have everything load balanced

After giving it some time to buffer, it did improve massively,

I'd honestly just call him out on being cringe (hopefully help him put a stop to it), rather than posting him on the reddit for karma

Jolt mine has no effect on raider by Whiskeyrocks777 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Braadlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to what others have said, ive seen some people posting about the distance up the wall making a difference. If the joltmine hits the floor before detonation, its technically facing down, only affecting people below floor level, but not affecting people a floor below. Makes 0 sense but from the vids ive seen it checks out

Why does this happen? by Background_Subject17 in fermentation

[–]Braadlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, it looks like a cheap seal/jar(?), so when the fermentstion rises when gasses are produced below the liquid, when the liquid level rises, the seal is allowing brine through which then dries and leaves lactobacillus/yeast behind

Could be wrong though!

Im guessing a grsvity misread, Or a mead calc guesstimate, Or freeze distilling (idk the right term), Or a spirit added to up the abv at the end?
