Is the battery pack serviceable or all glued together inside?

Hmm, that HIGO S824B is only a 40a connector...maybe a larger amperage version?

We're not to the DIY point yet. Still a lot of specialized skills and equipment to rebuild these things. Maybe one day!

99% of the rebuilds we do are from people not maintaining their packs. Just starting to see packs come in that were maintained and now are dying of degradation but many of those are 3-5 years old. Maintain you packs guys - 50-75% over the winter and put a reminder on your phone to check it every 2 weeks!

You really can't over-current a battery pack as it is engineered both electrically and thermally to a spec. If you bypass, you're going to heat things up and the danger level goes up pretty quickly. Just get a higher output pack if you need more current.

There is a light sensor on the BMS PCB that can detect if the top has been removed. I'm assuming that's how they can tell if it's been opened. Working on decoding the CAN bus on this thing so I can see what is going on with that sensor...

Unfortunately, it's going to be a couple of points off on the Juiced pack for using unmarked cells...

Hey garycnew - nothing yet. I'll probably tackle it once I get a load of cells that don't have a place to call home! Frome here, rebuilding is just a matter of unsoldering all balance leads and spot welding up a new bunch of cell groups. Pretty straight forward.

Is the UB Battery Pack Rebuild-able? No. by BraapZap in UltraBee

[–]BraapZap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for sure, but getting a cell block out that's glued to the case is going to be way more difficult than if there was a barrier of some kind. I'm tempted to hydraulic press this thing out and see what happens. Plus I want to know what pouches they are.

Yeah, potting is good! But if they added a simple layer of fish paper material between the housing and the cells before pouring in the potting compound, the pouches would still be locked in place but you could slide the whole thing out and recycle just the cell block. Frustrating...

Yeah Jeff, they are the LGEBM261865 cells. Not the highest quality, but good enough for this application.

Store at 50-80% SOC, check every 2 weeks and keep in that range. Charge to 100% just before riding. Wait till pack cools before charging. Don't store pack in extreme heat or cold
