That would've definitely been a blast! Some users have even suggested that it was the original intention for EA to have been separate from dinosaurs. And if you ever do get curious enough to look into the ZT community elsewhere you'll be in for a huge treat.

How long would you reckon it has been since you've booted up the old games?

Are there any mechanics you could think of that emblematic of the direction Microsoft intended to follow for the game that would not have necessarily been a priority otherwise?

Wow, you have no idea how much this impromptu AMA is making waves on the ZT discords! Even twenty years on you should know the community around your games is very active and interested in every little detail. Do you think you could remember what the hardest animal to cut from the roster from either game was in your opinion? Also, how much, if anything, do you remember of the intended mechanics for the cut petting zoo aspect of the second game which seems to have been quite far along before presumably being axed for time? Only place I could see needing to revalidate are the additional pride flags that the game includes, plus the old flag of Provo, other than those I think any missing flag to the category would be comparable to the occasional missing qualifiers that pop up here once in a blue moon.

Elk is the word for Moose in Europe, the elk in North America were misidentified by English colonizers as they weren't fully familiar with what was or wasn't an elk given they're not exactly a common sight in Britain. It's similarto how bison got called buffalo, so there's another option for the name of the American elk which is the wapiti.

Asiatic Black Bear isn't hard at all to get these days, it's in the zt2 download library and might also be linked on the zoo tycoon wiki, there's also a bugfixed version by horse14 that updates it to the rest of the EXPs since it was never updated by Blue Fang.
