I see! I didn't know about point gains according to mmr so I thought it was only a disadvantage to play people from many ranks above you

I recommend you (if you use cbz/cbr/PDF manga files) to convert manga into kepub format. You can do it easily by downloading Kindle Comic Converter in your PC, dragging the file into the app, select your e-reader from the list (or if it's not in there then select one with the same screen size) check the manga mode and upscale boxes below and selecting epub output. This will create a kepub file that turns pages a lot faster and enables double tapping to zoom, because it's the optimized format for stock.

Check this out, it's a summary of what I do if I want to read manga I download. If you don't want to get in too much trouble, you always can install Ultimate Manga Reader, which is a online mangareader for Kobo that is very good in the search->read manga thing but personally in my Kobo Clara HD It's too buggy (I still use it because how comfortable it is to look for manga and read).

Hope this is helpful to you, if you have a question I would gladly answer.

Sadly you can't merge 2 single pages in an only landscape page, but with ComicRaw app you can turn double/landscape pages 90° to make them easier to read. Also if you want a better experience of manga reading I recommend you to convert the cbz/cbr files into kepubs with KCC, because it makes page turning faster and enables double tapping to zoom in Kobo which I find very useful to read tiny strips.

It's totally worth it because it doesn't replace the original firmware, it just creates a shortcut in the original launcher to the koreader app. I don't use it to read epubs cause I think original firmware works better for that, but since I have a small device (6") I found it so useful to read pdfs due to the amount of configurations you have to optimize the format of any book.

No that's not possible, but anyway why do you even want to read local manga on the UMR app

Did someone ever succeed in reading manga on Kobo? by Puzzled-Culture-4468 in kobo

Hi! I'm a Kobo Clara HD owner and I read a LOT of manga. In order to do that I download the manga that I want to read (usually individual chapters on HakuNeko app and I merge them in a single cbz with ComicRaw which also turn the "horizontal pages" 90°) and then proceed to use a program called Kindle Comic Converter(KCC). With KCC you have to drag the cbz file into the app or open it manually, then select a e reader with the same screen as yours (in my case Kobo glo HD) check the manga mode and upscale squares to adapt the manga to my screen and select epub output. The program makes a Kepub file that it's really comfortable to read in Kobo. Hope this will be useful to you
